Well when Mateer gets healthy
Sc may mail it in after the LSU loss
Ole Miss is good but beatable
Depends on which Alabama team shows up
Tennessee looks good but if Bama beats them and they lose one more they may Mail it in
Y’all should beat Missouri. Alabama got in their own way or that game would not have been as close
LSU defense is really good but their offense is very average. Y’all can beat them unless their offense gets hot.

Yall just ask Dallas tiger. He’s the most Oklahoma fan on this board

Mateer will not be healthy running it 20 times a game and getting sacked 6 times a game. This is the issue. The OL's, RB's, and WR's are terrible. This is the worse rushing team in the country!

That depends on if the problems are talent or meshing.
For a random year sure, but habitual bad Olines? That just not making it a priority.

The biggest little brother energy on this entire website.

What’s the point of this? The grown man version of going to your room and screaming into a pillow. Nobody making the decisions is listening.
Posted on 10/13/25 at 9:38 pm to OKinTX21
The people making the decisions are clearly idiots. Let’s give Venables an extension!

Wait and see how many Sooners jump on my band wagon when we finish 6-7 again
I won’t be the only Sooner that notices Venables is absolute trash

So because he coached as a DC 20 years ago he gets a lifetime contract and can go 6-7 every season?
Not saying that at all. Just saying not hard to see why he has a lot of loyal fans at OU. OU truly sucked when John Blake was fired. They were way in the dumps for years, and the Stoops boys and Venables brought them out of hell and back to being very competitive. That buys loyalty, but I agree with you, if it isn't working, it isn't working.

You’re good AzHorn. I am just at my limit with this guy. We have the worst offense in the country EVERY season.

I said the other day....if Hawkins isn't better than the way mateer played, then we aren't close to a playoff caliber team.

Lets see how OU does these last 6 games AT SC (first road game)
That’s kind of wild considering we’re in mid-October. Didn’t realize that
Hell LSU will have kicked off its 3rd road game of season (@clemson,@OleMiss,@Vandy) before OU’s first
I think I heard Mizzou hasn’t played a road game yet either

Thank You N0T Sure. I cannot be the only Sooners fan critical of Venables
I’m not seeing the outrage! Where are we as a fan base if we ok being horrible on offense

Technically we played a road game at Temple (3-9 last season) there were at least 3,000 fans there.
At Columbia will be a REAL road game

Venables is not head coach material. He's best as a DC only.

You’ve clearly made up your mind. It’s a pretty cynical viewpoint and not productive, but you do you.

OL injured again and Mateer was rushed back… Arch played the game of his season . OU had Texas on average 3rd and 8 and they converted 9 of 18 including 7 of 8 in 3 quarter OU had the ball for 4 snaps in the 3rd quarter . It was hot the defense was on the field the whole day and still barely gave up 300 yards . OU and Texas are very evenly matched teams they made some nice adjustments at OL before OU and had a good gameplan to get the ball out fast. If you wanna blame Venables blame him playing a qb who was hurt 17 days before and hadn’t even gone up against the 1s. In practice before playing . His timing was way off and it affected him . Mateer before he got hurt was the real deal . If he isn’t healthy OU could lose every game . If he is OU can win any game left . It’s one loss!

Agreed. Don't be like Florida and just accept mediocrity. Someone should snatch up Alex Golesh from USF. He would be a nightmare with real blue chip talent to deal with.
Alex go to sleep. Nobody wants your unhealthy arse.
