Mac Jones had an offer from Kentucky so he wasn’t quite “not SEC worthy” but you could argue for Alabama that taking Mac Jones along with Tua the year after Jalen Hurts won Freshman of the Year was exactly that kind of strategy.
Sign someone who will long haul to get their chance to start just in case Tua transfers if Jalen Hurts doesn’t have a sophomore slump.
Jalen Hurts didn't have a sophomore slump. In fact, he was a little better in his 2nd season. Tagovailoa was just better. Bad injury luck, but better.

Barner Bootlicker Barrett Sallee says Finley will take Nix's starting job.

Gut feeling: the underdog Finley will be Auburn's starting quarterback for the season-opener vs. Akron on Sept. 4. It might be an unpopular opinion, which is fine. But Nix consistently bailed from the pocket after one read and tried to make plays with his legs -- even if he wasn't under any pressure. That wasn't a huge deal for Malzahn since the former Auburn coach prefers his quarterbacks to be more than just "willing" runners. That won't fly with Bobo and Harsin -- both of whom want their quarterbacks to go through multiple reads and understand what is a much more passer-friendly playbook.

Dumbest post I have read all day.
I’m glad there is someone else in the QB room to push Nix. I wonder if our freshman QB Davis will stay or transfer out.

Burrow won the Heisman. Granted he was not recruited from HS but he was recruited to come play for LSU. His senior year he went from being a middle of the draft had he went pro after 2018 to number 1 overall after 2019.
Myles Brennan was having a good start to season before he went down with an injury. He has been developed pretty good. Max Johnson has shown some promise and I think he will get better.
Yes I know sample size is small but at least future QBs in high school and see that LSU is developing QBs better than they had under Miles.

Just my opinion, but I think he had a worse season in 2017 but he did play his best 2 games when we absolutely needed it (MSU and Clemson). He was incredibly hesitant as a thrower. Just didn’t feel like he got what Brian Daboll was going for with the passing offense. Rumors are that Daboll wanted Tua from around midseason.

He's not an SEC Championship caliber QB or even an SEC caliber QB.
EGO made him pick Auburn.
Yall go find a video of the 2020 LSU vs Auburn 48-11 debacle with TJF at the helm of the sinking ship.
What you see is what you get AU.........

Keep going with the intellectual dishonesty there bud. You’ve been stumping for that guy for a while.
You know he had nothing to do with the turnaround or 2019. You can keep saying it but Brady was the brains behind that and every honest swinging dick knows it.

We weren't just talking about 2019 or Burrow. We were talking about LSU quarterback recruiting and development as a whole the last few seasons.
Not sure why E triggers you so bad.
