In his defense, his offensive coaching staff was worse than Gus Malzahn

Barn is getting a physical beast with a high ceiling for growth and good football IQ. Won’t ever have any off the field issues with him either. Very solid young man, literally and figuratively.

Best of luck to him unless he’s playing us.

The part of Bama recruiting the QB is still unclear. Is it Young, Paul, or the new freshmen that's Nick feels we need a better option to go with Young?

I'm guessing that after spring they decided they don't really love the idea of Tyson over multiple games if Young goes down. They seem to like Milroe a lot but he's very raw and super young. It doesn't seem like a major concern, but more like "if an option shows up that intrigues us we'll look into it". And Finley was one of those.

Only 3 scholarship quarterbacks by my count: Young, Tyson, Milroe. I think coaches would really prefer to have at least 4 to feel secure in their ability to mitigate against an injury rash at quarterback.

To Saban's credit, he has a history of making a QB earn playing time by producing on the field. So Saban wanting more options is feasible

And yet LSU’s offense finished higher in the SEC than Auburn’s while using 3 different QBs

And yet, head to head, LSU lost by 50

Go back and look at the LSU vs Auburn game last season. You won't be pleased if you watch it. (TJF performance)

But how do you keep 4 good QB's on your roster with this new deal about moving on and not have to sit out a year?

My opinion is LSU had a terrible coaching staff.

You don't, which is why this is so hard.

Just because he wasn't ready as a true freshman to win every game doesn't mean that he won't be good in the future.

The opposite could be said if someone would look at only the performance vs South Carolina.

Only way to do that it take a program QB who isn’t really good enough to play in the SEC but isn’t terrible and grew up rooting for your school and is just holy to be there.

Personally I think that’s a waste of a scholly but I get the argument for it. If Max beats out Myles we’ll have gone from 4 QBs to 2 real fast.

It's nearly impossible, especially if you're talking about them being all 4 or 5 star recruits. You may be able to get away with it if one of them is a 3 star that's expecting to have to develop.

I love TJ but he has real limitations. There’s a reason he was 4th string.

He can be a decent SEC QB with a bit more seasoning though if he can improve his touch and pocket awareness.
