What was UGAs regular season SOS ? What was Bama's SOS ? Being in the SECCG and the Playoff skewed a lot of those numbers.

OP, can you explain why you've been registered for 2.5 years but every post you've ever made has been in the past 2.5 months?

Georgia is finally decent, it's the same reason over 90% of the Georgia fans are suddenly active on this board to shite their pants over every negative thing said about Georgia.

Our regular longstanding posters realize the same thing the rest of the board does; most of the johnny come latelys posting on here are alters or fairweathers that are now coming out of the woodwork. Diddly, TB07, and Zeus I'm still not convinced are even uga fans. This thread starter I'm even less sure of. I mean c'mon.

If we have 1 or less regular season losses no shite we're in. That's simply common sense (not direction this necessarily towards you MIZ).

It's pretty much an inevitable fact that UGA and Bama are meeting in the SECCG. Both teams' OOC schedules are garbage. Both teams will be ranked high all season. As long as either team is a 12-1 (or better) SEC Champion they are 100%, absolute, no way around it playoff team.

the SEC champ would get in with 2 loses.

If Wisconsin had won the Big10 they would have gotten in

You might all call me bitter, but I: 1) don't think Alabama should've made the CFP and 2) think Alabama was the best team in the country last season.

It just doesn't make sense for to me for teams to benefit from sitting out of their conference title games. Just look at Auburn: they were totally boned for having to play in the SECCG because they were sitting at #3 or whatever, and would've otherwise gotten in. Felt the same way about Ohio State (who I probably hate more than anyone) - don't think they should've gotten in 2016-2017, think they should've gotten in 2017-2018. I think a lot of weight should be put on conference championship games (considering they are presumably one of the toughest games of the year).

One thing I'm proud of in 2017-2018 is that Georgia controlled its destiny the entire season, and got to the championship game. They always controlled their destiny in the SEC as well as the CFP. Even Alabama needed Wisconsin to lose (but not in a blowout, or else Ohio State might've gotten the nod) in order to get into the CFP. It's a small consolation after the CFP title loss, but still proud of it.

Again, none of this is to say that Bama didn't deserve to be there by the precedents set (they were obviously one of the four best teams ) but I've been a big proponent (and not just this year) of the idea that benefitting from skipping not only a game but a tough conference championship game shouldn't be to your advantage.

Not sure but those games also skew the stats.

If that was their worse, next year's shouldn't be any better if you compare this year's recruiting class to the one they lose from 2014.

Depends on when the loss is, who it’s to, and how bad. Pretty much any team from the Sec gets in if they are a one loss conference champ.

Ours is awful outside of FSU. Idaho moving down means we're playing 2 FCS teams.

I don't really have an issue with your position as a UGA fan. But keep in mind that the Playoff Comittee- which everybody wanted- was tasked with getting the best FOUR teams I the playoffs, which they did.

If anything- in hindsight- you have to wonder if Clemson deserved to be in the playoffs. Clemson benefitted from last year's 'win' against Bama and an early season home win against Auburn. But the ACC was poor this year even with an overrated Miami.

No doubt the Bama's selection didn't sit right with some fanbases. But the playoffs proved that it was the right selection. Bama will have to demonstrate a superior body of work again in the future however to receive similar considerations.

Bama has earned the benefit of the doubt, don’t you think?

I don't have any problem with taking Alabama last year based on last year's season. My problem is if and when it comes to giving them the benefit of the doubt when others don't get it for the same body of work. That did not happen this year or in 2011.

Finebaum is right to point out Georgia's OOC schedule being light. But it's just poor on his part as a talking head not to take a look at other top 5 teams OOC schedule and question it too. If he's doing it rile someone up and generate callers etc. This would've done it more than anything.

"UGA's OOC schedule is light, but guess who has one just as bad....."

The 2017 team May have been worse than 2010. This was the first Bama team since 2007 where I had practically zero confidence in our offense. If u didn't get us last year u missed a golden opportunity.

Am I missing something, or does UGA not play GT this year?
