I disagree with a rematch in any situation. I don't care if everyone else has 5 losses. It's not fair to whichever team wins the first game. If the team who loses the first game wins second game it then becomes tied one and one but yet they win the championship because the game they won was the important one.

That's bullshite. It's hard enough beating a team the caliber of Bama and LSU 1 time, to ask someone to do it twice without the benefit of a best of 3 scenario is absurd.

that LSU clearly deserved to have a rematch with Bama in that scenario. Finebaum sees the odds of a 1 loss Bama team getting a rematch as a much longer shot than LSU.

Palm basically used the Michigan/Ohio State game in 2006 as the precendent for why the Bama/LSU loser won't get the benefit of the doubt for a rematch. This offended Finebaum as he thinks LSU and Bama are much stronger #1 and #2 teams than Mich/OSU that year.
Damn.

Finebaum is dead on for once . . . then he gets self-critical

I'm a new listener, but I've already heard this with Coach Dye and Sheridan. Bizarre.

he treats those 2 and Tim Brando way differently than other guests. He is unfiltered with them, doesn't hold back

with most other guest he is much more "professional"

but thats what makes the Dye, Sheridan, Brando (well not Brando anymore) segments so interesting. You know if they ever come with some bullshite Paul will call them out on it. With his other guests he is usually much more agreeable and polite.

"I got an email earlier about him hanging up on an Auburn caller and saying "we only want to discuss relevant teams"...

Don't know if that was the one or not...seemed like a really rude move...so, you know...typical Finebaum"

Finebaum immediately diverted show attention to Auburn the week following 6th ranked Alabama's loss to LSU last year when someone attempted to bring up the game.

I'm for a rematch if there is no other undefeated team aside from Boise(they shouldn't get in either way but they would).Clearly LSU/Bama are the best 2 teams and if everyone has lost aside from the winner on Nov 5 then the loser's loss would be by far the best loss of any of the teams. No other team could say their only loss was to the #1 team.
It would only be fair to have a rematch if Bama wins on Nov 5.The reason for is because the 2nd game would be a neutral field game though it could be argued that New Orleans is in LA.Difference is ticket allotment but I would understand if Bama fans argued that.If Bama loses on Nov 5 then they shouldn't get a rematch because they are the home team.If you lose at home then you should be eliminated.I would be okay with ti though if the scenario in the 1st paragraph happened.
Honestly my true feeling is this.If LSU loses then I'll argue rematch all the way but if LSU wins then I'd argue against it all the way.I'm willing to bet most feel this same way.If your team wins no way do you want to have to face the loser again. The teams are too close.

you mean he wanted to talk about Cam Newton and undefeated Auburn instead of talking about 2 loss Alabama? Shocking!!!

He talks about what gets people fired up and emotional. The topic of the show is whatever will drive the most/best calls. LSU fans think everything is an Alabama conspiracy. If talking about Bama / LSU last year would have driven the most calls, thats what he would have talked about. But there were bigger things going on, at least for people outside of Baton Rouge

And he did talk about that game a little, went as far as to say Saban was "outcoached" which got bama fans all sorts of upset, inspiring many emotional callers to blast him

People who think this show is about being biased or trying to help certain teams over others are so dumb. The show is about getting jobless fans with extreme opposing viewpoints upset and emotional and driving in good calls. Its like the SECrant on the radio. People who say he's pushing an agenda are idiots, unless they claim the agenda he is pushing is Ratings

To be fair, Finebaum did call Alabama "irrelevant" after they lost to LSU last year.

He can be a bit hard on Bama based teams after a loss to LSU.

What was that about? Said something about a close minded caller.

I thought he was referring to the Patty/Patsy call? This old woman Auburn caller who used to call in all the time when Tubberville was around. She started making excuses for the Auburn loss and talking about all the starters they lost off last years team and he quickly cut her off, told her he only wanted to focus on relevant teams and hung up. pretty dick but not unusual for his show

I think some people thought it was rude since she was a woman, because this type of thing happens several times a day on the show and he is usually pretty rude to dumb callers. I guess Tammy doesn't count as a woman b/c nobody ever gets mad at Paul if he's rude to her/it

I agree, I'm also of the opinion that you should have to win your conference. But I really agree with what you said and that's why I would be against a Oregon LSU rematch or any rematch period. You're essentially telling the winner of the first game, that win didn't count.

Tammy was pretty good.

LSU smells bad, but she was too stupid to remember corn dogs.

Will never go to an away game again

LSU beat the crap out of her boys.

Alabama will get beat by LSU.

Horrible idea BTW.

I agree. There would be a never-ending debate about who was the real 2011 NC if we played twice and the head-to-head record was 1-1.
