If it wasn't a ranking of how teams played in the tournament, then Texas tech wouldn't have finished #2

obviously the tournament is a factor, and it's a no-brainer the title participants finish 1 and 2. My point was that it's not the only factor, Duke had a far better entire season up to the tournament than AU did, that's not really debatable. They did have a better tournament though, which is why they finished as high as they did.

Let's just call a spade and spade and say that Duke got Duke treatment, per usual.

they were a top 5 team the entire season, only lost 6 games (half of which were without their best player), most of which were to top 10 opponents. That's not getting a "duke treatment".

They can frick right off with that BS. Auburn lost by 1 to the eventual National Champ in the Final Four.

Auburn lost to Duke by 6.

so using that rational........Duke should be NC's?

Nope. Fact. LSU had fewer losses and better conference record. Would have been the single greatest season in Texas A&M history.

another fact: A&M actually won a conference tournament game and was considered to be better than the 4th best team in the conference when the season ended

Duke overrated AF and was all year. Great individual talent, but when Zion went down you saw all the flaws that team had that he was able to mask in the regular season and were exposed routinely in the tournament.

Duke beat 3 of the Final 4 teams, VA was beat twice once without Zion.

Conference tournaments mean nothing. Texas Tech didn’t win a game in its conference tournament this year either.

Sorry my facts hurt you.

#9-16 were eliminated in the Sweet 16

No - #16 Kansas was eliminated in the Round of 32

Also Kansas State lost in the round of 64 but ended up 19 (because of their pre-tournament work)

Wisconsin got smoked in the round of 64 but ended up 24 (because of their pre-tournament work)

Iowa State got beat in the round of 64 but ended up 25 (because of their pre-tournament work)

The tournament results and the rankings do match up fairly well this year because the tournament was more chalk than usual. But there is not a perfect correlation between tournament results and final rankings and there never has been.

Did you know that Virginia got blown out by some nobody school in the first round last year and finished #5 in the final poll? You know why? Because they were #1 in the country going into the tournament.

No, the rational that Auburn is better because they lost to VA by one is flawed. Duke beat VA twice, Auburn and TT (Both on neutral courts). I think its crazy to think just because Auburn had a good run they deserve to be in the top 4.

Since the NCAA tournament began, Texas A&M has never had a season where they won 80% of their games.

Texas A&M fans could only dream of having the type of season LSU had this season while most LSU fans have witnessed better seasons.
