Let's see where Mizzou is in 20 years. Mizzou has a lot of potential being the only major athletic program in the state. The University has never invested financially in athletics like it should have nor has it received the level of consistent support from fans that it needed.

Things will change with the SEC move, things are already starting to change.

Good Lord, get over yourself. And no offense, but the B12 bringing in Arkansas & FSU (not going to happen) still wouldn't make it "SEC level."

Yes, it would.

This is pretty much what Im getting at. There is a cultural shift happening inside Missouri towards Mizzou athletics and football in particular. The SEC move is spearheading this movement without question.

Missouri will increase in revenue as they should by TV money alone. The difference is how long will this surge last?

Everyone said Arkansas could never achieve the financial level we have and we are only getting stronger. We won't get to Alabama revenue because we can't charge the same for general tickets as they do. However, we are about to have the most skyboxes in the SEC and those aren't cheap. That alone keeps us in the top 10 for good.

Missour is playing catch up we will see how much their fan base is willing to do because a 1/3 of it will come from TV money.

Kilo the things that killed MU IMO was
1. Norm Stewart
2. Bob Stull
3. Firing of Warren Powers
4. The reluctance of MU to play the in state schools in FB and basketball.
5. The stupid KC StL boosters fight

They could have put SMS SEMO UMKC and SLU in a death lock and consolidated the whole state power if they could or would have settled 4 and 5. Allowing Norm to escape the NCAA stuff also began some of I'll feelings had by some.

It will get better as I've said countless times. The difference is Pro vs College and donation levels, tickets, merchandise which is the other 75% of the revenue.

My point stands.. How do you expect to be better than Kentucky? Same geography, population, more pro teams, lost Texas pipeline and same in-state talent base..

It's not a flame I've said this for months and not a single Missouri person can answer it.

From whence comes this sense of entitlement for Arkansas, I know not.

But at any rate, there is some truth in what he says. There weren't any major league franchises (NFL, MLB) in the South prior to the 1960s. Not the case in Missouri. It's one of many reasons college football is so huge in the South. It really was the only game in town for a long, long time.

This is what we're getting at.

Makes two of us. Kelly Kirkpatrick left CBS to work for the Longhorn network as an Executive. He's my father's best friend and grew up in Arkansas before going to the University of Texas.

It's amazing how you never know who you are talking to on a message board right?

Some one has got to ask this obvious question.

Since Arkansas has all this "Money" where are the SEC titles in the Big 3 sports and all the National Championships?

Thanks for taking my call, I'll hang up and listen.

Awesome. You know someone. I wasn't claiming otherwise. "Who I'm talking to on [this] message board" doesn't in any way change what I've said. I'd think, however, that your insider knowledge would appropriately curtail your thoughts of grandeur w regard to the B12 & the LHN.

You do realize UGA only slightly made more ($1M only)than Arkansas in Gross and less in Net, right?

You realize Arkansas games has twice the TV audience than UGA last year, right? It shows you Arkansas is in the same league with a smaller fan base.

UGA is a old power and will stay there because the state is large and the dominate school with a huge rivals with Florida.
