He's played a bunch of bums. LSU has played teams with a pulse defensively.

Thankfully mizzou fans get to remember cook sucked the first 3 games last year before turning the switch on the deep ball

Not with respect to Cook. Gritty kid. Can beat you with his feet. Can’t throw the long ball to save his life, or likely our CFP chances.

Lol. 4tds 2 picks 68% comp
He's thrown for more touchdowns than nico, has a better int% rate, all against the 12th toughest schedule in the country compared to Tenner's cupcake 40th.

None of this means a whole lot until we start playing real teams every week.

Let's look into the comparison of the 2 more closely (Rankings/Player/Number):

86. Iamaleava - 67
Completion Percentage:
22. Nussmeier - .698
13. Iamaleava - .716
Passing Efficiency:
34. Nussmeier - 159.64
12. Iamaleava - 182.73
Yards per Pass Attempt:
61. Nussmeier - 7.72
8. Iamaleava - 10.42
Yards per Completion:
79. Nussmeier - 11.05
20. Iamaleava - 14.54
Passing TDs:
2. Nussmeier - 10
26. Iamaleava - 6
Interpolated - TDs per pass attempt (from numbers above):
Nussmeier - 0.86
Iamaleava - 0.90
*NCAA.com source for stats through Tuesday September 17.
Also, the SOS ranking you quoted includes the projected ranking for the remaining schedule. If you look at the schedule to date, it would be ( Si.com CFB HQ SOS Ranking):
LSU - 37
Tennessee - 68
Not a great schedule at all for Tennessee, but LSU's has not been a barn-burner, either.

It's not a great sign if you aren't hitting throws down the field (either due to accuracy or receivers not creating space) against the poorer teams on your schedule. That usually doesn't improve as defenses get better.
Generally an exception for first time QBs, though, who are going to grow.

Y’all thought Tennessee threw deep balls all the time. We run the ball more than we threw it. So much for the gimmick offense theory.

SOG, I'm curious to know where the QBs of the playoff teams from the past few years finished in this category.
Wanted to see how significant it is.
