Veterans' Memorial in Jackson, MS

Been to a couple of Hogs vs Ole Miss games there in the 80's. I was a young tot, but I remember the games. We were the smart bunch of our family (Hog fans), and we always would go with the other side of the family (Ole Miss fans). Hogs were always winners in those games when I was younger. I think our downturn in football began in '89 or '90.

The GA dome. Great venue for the SEC championships, including basketball

1) You are an old timer if you remember all these places.

No and yes. I know my SEC history well, but most of these places I haven’t been in. I’ve seen games at the Old Box, Georgia Dome, and not much else on that list. I’m just a sucker for history, so I like to sneak into those places when I can. I’ve seen Beard Eaves, Tad Pad, original Dude, and McKethan...but not for
games.

I’ve wandered in to Barnhill and Parker.

I like that sports fans can connect to old shithole facilities just because of good memories. It’s like the first car you drove. Mine was a POS Dodge Dakota, but I loved it.

I think the Old Box was much past its prime, but the memories are still fresh.

Ole Miss has the rare distinction of being the only SEC school to have a basketball game rained out.

Grant Field in Atlanta. In the 80s it made Legion Field look like Jerry World.

No mentions for old Swayze Field at Ole miss?

Four of their five CWS teams played there so I just figured it would be more beloved.

Oh, Veterans' Memorial in Jackson!

When I was in school i think it was 1980. We beat Alabama. I did not even bother to go into the game. But I had one of my best experiences with this female in back of a chev g-20 van. Will always have good memories of the VM.

Can't wait to add War Memorial Stadium to this list

Might as well have kept this pos

I really liked the Tad Pad. It had an old school, HS gym flavor to it. Incredible student section and no seperation between stands and court. Loud and a huge home court advantage.

They could have easily just upgraded the lighting and plugged some leaks.

The Pavillion is awesome, but it feels more like a concert venue than a college BB arena.

Needs to be torn down and moved to a better part of Bham if that can be found. But, I did like the "neutral" site IB better.

I regret to inform you that you will never add War Memorial to this list. You will continue playing there twice a year, and you will like it.

I love visiting Fayetteville...one of my favorite SEC road trips. As fun as that is, going to games at war memorial sucks that much worse. The stadium sucks, the people suck. Most Arkansas fans even can't stand the "Little Rock wing" of their fanbase.

I went Bama vs Ole Miss in Jackson in 80 and back for the 6-3 loss to Miss State that same year. Long long ride back to Montgomery after that State loss.

Yes, the only basketball arena to experience rain delays. The Sad Pad used to cry after om losses.

1. We only play there once a year
2. I am an Arkansas fan and understand the LR fan base problem

When did Barnhill Arena?

Arkansas' first basketball season in the SEC was in Walton.

WRONG. We played two SEC seasons in Barnhill.

I love it when other fan bases act like they know the history of another program.
