With the new basketball and baseball facilities cropping up, I’m wondering which ones that are no longer used were the favorites of the board.

Legion Field - Alabama/Auburn
Alex Box Stadium - LSU
Parker Coliseum - LSU basketball
Tad Smith Coliseum - Ole Miss basketball
Barnhill Arena - Arkansas basketball
George Cole Field - Arkansas baseball
Dudy Noble Field (original)
Beard-Eaves Coliseum - Auburn basketball
McKethan Stadium
Perry Field - Florida baseball
Florida Gymnasium
Sarge Fry Field - SC baseball
Carolina Coliseum
Memorial Coliseum - UK basketball
Cliff Hagan Stadium - UK baseball
Stokely Athletic Center - Tennessee basketball

I’m sure I’m missing a few. I’ve only been to a couple of these, so I can’t speak for many of these places. Some are at least still standing too. I always try to wander into these places when taking in a road FB game.

Dump. I saw the 1996 Iron Bowl there and it felt like the bleachers were going to collapse. BUT, I did see Pink Floyd there in '94 and that is a great memory!

Terrible place to watch a basketball game and it always smelled like pee for some reason. Our locker rooms were in there too.

G. Rollie White - A&M Basketball.

I still like it better than Reed Arena.

Might as well have kept this pos. Don't forget Veterans' Memorial in Jackson, MS. Second only to Liberty Bowl in terms of having your car broken into while you watch the game.

Dudy-Noble Field

Still is.

Will always be.

9 out of 10 largest crowds for a baseball game in the nation. Give me a hot dog and lets play ball!

Wasn’t the Tad Pad having roof leaks toward the end of its major usage?

Forgot about Mississippi Vets. I’ve driven by. Just looks like a typical old concrete stadium.

When did Barnhill Arena?

Arkansas' first basketball season in the SEC was in Walton.

Barnhill and it isn’t close for me.

My gramps had season tickets and as a small child I have pics of me with ear muffs on because it got so loud. I miss that place. The Palace is nice and all, but Barnhill was something special.

My first game at Barnhill was against A&M in the mid 70's. We walked across saw dust to get to student section which was in temporary bleachers directly the A&M bench. Overtime win.

I’ll add the Auburn Sports Arena that LSU fans burned up when I was in school.

Another vote for "The Barn." May it rest in peace.

Beard-Eaves is still standing and in use for some functions, just not basketball. It probably won't get too many votes, but I saw a lot of good concerts in there. Legion Field was a smelly, erector set, dump.

I have two observations:

1) You are an old timer if you remember all these places.
2)You must travel a lot with your Tigers, even to basketball and baseball games.

I saw LSU come into Stokley as a top 5 team around 81. Rudy Macklin, Hi C Carter, among others, represented a very lethal team. All Tennessee had was Dale Ellis. Can’t remember who won, but it was very tough for the visiting team to win in that old building.
