Do any of y’all actually want to be in the worse division?
As much as it sucks losing all the time, I’d much rather have the opportunity to pull out big wins against L1U, Auburn, and at least have a shot at Bama each year. Plus A&M, OM, and Arkansas always are good for tough games even if they kind of suck a lot of the time.

Sure in the east, pulling off great records isn’t hard, but honestly who cares about beating Georgia or UShoe?

I’d be embarrassed if MSU fans were running around crying about wanting to go to the easy east.

No sir!

Happy to take our lumps in the West, it makes the wins even sweeter

Plus we usually have the Mississippi schools as a cushion to keep us from going winless

You think Florida or Georgia care about those easy wins?

I’d pick easy wins over the chance of knocking off West opponents any day.

And let it serve as a warning for the rest of you. Do not hire an Aggy to coach you football team. Ever.

Or a dude who doesn't mind weighing 500lbs.

Does not work out.

How much you think Pittman weighs? If he were Fat Bret's height he'd be right there.

A SEC West team has been in every playoff since its inception, 7 years, 7 times an SEC west team has been selected.

A SEC East team has been in the playoff only once since its inception, 7 years, and only 1 time has an SEC East team been selected.

Yes the large majority of that is credited to Alabama, no doubt about that, but what it means for a fan of a team like Mississippi State, is if you have a big year and somehow end up at the top of the SEC West standings, you have all but locked up a spot in the Playoff (poor Auburn). So the opportunity is always there. The winner of the East has only been to the playoff once. Win the West, go the playoff.

Being a member of the SEC west, the opportunity is always there to make the playoff. Is it easy? HELL NO but the path is always there and that’s all you can ask for, the large majority of P5 schools don’t have that annual opportunity. Run through the west and you’re in, and you can even absorb a loss (or even 2 in extreme cases, yet to happen) along the way as long as you beat the SEC East team in the SEC Championship game. Same can’t be said for the East, and the same absolutely can’t be said for any other division in the P5. MSU almost did it in 2014 but ran out of steam as Mullen started his annual late season job shopping spree.

In short, I wouldn’t trade it for anything, we are all here to win it all, and being in the West gives us the opportunity year in, year out. You just have to take it. Win a 7 team league, make the playoff.

Pittman is actually going the other direction in regards to weight. Last I heard he had lost 35 pounds.

Bert wasn’t straight fat until he got to Arkansas or right before.

He had serious drinking issues at Arkansas that was his downfall

This is comparing apples to watermelons, but the more weight Mullen lost, the more games State lost.

Every state fan will agree with this:

Chubby Mullen >>>> Marathon Mullen

Too add, if Pittman ever runs out of the tunnel in shorts to show off his marathon legs on game day, you might as well start looking for a new head coach.

I would switch to the East in a heartbeat. Better road trips.

He's lost a lot of weight since Cheney isn't dragging him to the buffet every evening.

Fayetteville? Baton Rouge? Oxford? Tuscaloosa?

West beats the East all hollow. Knoxville is the only destination spot in the worse division.

Eh, go undefeated in any P5 conference and you're in.

A State team that loses in the SECCG ain't getting the benifit of the doubt that Bama got that one year. You gotta win the conference. If the playoffs are your only standard, you want to be in the East.
