This is the worst part of the experience. It gets overcrowded in a relatively confined area. The scenery is nice, but the poor girls come walking out of the stadium with their high heels in hand because they can no longer tolerate the pain. Just wear tennis shoes for crying out loud.

Why can’t we just all get along as fellow proud American citizens?

I'm in the minority among LSU fans, but I like the grove. I've always heard the common narrative about how Ole Miss fans are all "stuck up," and you hear all about the "fine china with chicken fingers." But I was pleasantly surprised to have a good time. A lot of well dressed ladies. It's a cool atmosphere.

If you genuinely are curious as to how to enjoy yourself while visiting the Grover for the first time, you’re more than welcome to ask for advice. And we’re more than happy to help. But if you start a thread shitting on our tailgating, then I’m going to rightfully respond by shitting on you.

Here’s what it’s like to explain the Grove to LSU fans...

So I’m gonna save myself some time, and just no, but thanks for the interest. That’s cute.

I'm sure the Grove is great if your goal is getting completely sloshed and having a cheap hookup.

All the older Ole Miss fans I know seem embarrassed when someone brings up "the grove" in a conversation. I mean it's for kool aid kids and soccer moms, more or less.

Been to the Grove multiple times and enjoyed it. Didn’t hurt I knew folks with a setup there each time. Could definitely see it seeming cliquish
That being said I prefer LSUs sprawling tailgate scene much better. Had many fans from many fanbases spontaneously spend the whole day at our tailgate.
Probably just the homer in me though

Heading to Oxford in November and am looking forward to it. I’ve read opinions from those that think it’s great to those that were underwhelmed. I’m not going in with any expectations just looking to have a good time and experience a new SEC scene.

I went in 2007 for the LSU game. We had a spot in the middle of the Grove with the in-laws(Ole Miss Alumni).
It was alot of fun.
I have no problem with them being in most top 10 tailgating lists.

If you go to the grove and have a bad time you’re probably a fig

Arkansas has better tailgating in LR than Fayetteville. Stadium in LR may be trash but the tailgating is much better

Never been but here's all that I've heard:
You are arse cheek to arse cheek with everyone in it
*It’s not quite that crowded, but crowded. But if it is as lame as “you’ve heard” then why is it crowded at all?
Chandeliers, tablecloths, candelabras, silverware
*Not really , that’s an exaggeration and for the ones that have chandeliers, it’s all for fun, a joke of sorts. Hard to explain, but not what you think. There are a few who have candelabras and all that, but they’re trying too hard.
No open flames allowed in tailgates
*While it’s not really arse cheek to arse cheek, it is crowded and not roomy enough for open flames.
Hours d'oeuvres, finger sandwiches, and premade food only
* See above. But, rest assured, there’s plenty of delicious food in the Grove.
Alcohol can only be consumed in a cup
*I’ll admit, this is kind of silly, it has to do with local laws, but it really doesn’t effect the party or experience. A minor inconvenience at best.
You should join us sometime. It’s a great experience and the hospitality is off the charts. Like every SEC school, we have our unique traditions and pageantry. It’s what makes the SEC the SEC!

Trust when I say we’ll fine if you choose not to show up to the Grove. There’s nothing worse than some tight-assed opposing fan showing up to the Grove with some shitty preconceived narrative and a “ok, now prove it to me” attitude.
So insecure.

The Grove was better 20 years ago than it is now. Just my opinion.
