Actually that is when it got bad. Before it was just crazy people calling in yelling about funny stuff, with the Newton thing everything got out of control dumb and kinda quite being as funny and more just sad. And then of course it led to Updyke which led to all this other junk.
Was more fun in the old days when it was just rando rednecks from Alabama yelling about who had the better backup Left Tackle.

The 960 time frame was the best. He had a guy named Vickers who was as good a foil for Paul as any thing you ever heard.

Our idea of fun is different I guess. I enjoyed Alabama imploding over kids playing a game personally.

When you go 6-6 you don't have the energy to do that half of the season.
I mean, the 100 rednecks explosions over Alabama losing a couple times a year is fine for everyone else I guess, it's just kind of low grade humor, even for Finebaum.
