But in the end we lost something by how it unfolded. Think we would have had a better system (in the end) if we had an LSU vs Oklahoma State championship. Purple and Gold lenses firmly in place.
Depends on who "we" is I guess. I don't think Bama should be blamed for having a great team and I don't think anyone really lost anything. We wanted the two best teams in the NC right? If so, that was easily Bama and LSU. The only alternative to that would have been Bama and Ok State but I don't buy that by a long shot.

Money
Yes, if anybody believes money is not involved they're a fricking retard.
To find the answer to something I think it's best to "follow the money". You always get the right answer.
So, if you're saying, we should leave money out of finding the national champion, then you're severely naive.
I respect it for sure but I'm also not anti-reality either.

Well if they had done the right thing and put in Oklahoma State we wouldn’t have this problem. Don’t forget your coach not even ranking them third.
Based on the outcome of the championship game, it should've been Alabama vs Oklahoma State.

The right teams are in per BCS except for the 2 G5 teams

Would have been a much better NC and Ok State might have won

It did involve them but not as heavily as people might think. There were at least 3 computer calc's and AP and Coaches.

I turned off both games before halftime. Not worth my time. Now I’m going to rant
We fans have been financially supporting these SUITS, (Disney, Fox, NBC, CBS, TBS (Warner) for a long time. We have willingly paid exorbitant ticket prices, travel costs to watch our team play.
If I was an Ole Miss or Oregon fan who spent thousands to see their team, I’d be furious at selecting such crap opponents.
For us fans who just love college football, today was a big slap in the face and a frick you by those who put on the CFP.
We fans need to do something so this kind of DEI shite show never happens again.
Thanks for allowing me to vent.

It was not the fault of Bama. Nick Saban did his job and successfully advocated for his program. It could not have been Bama vs Oklahoma State simply because Bama was #2 or #3 at the time. LSU had their spot. One of the other two teams had to be put into the other spot. I just see the whole system starting to come apart at the seams at that point.

I did not even watch, don't think I even checked on the scores...I will tune in once it gets to the final four....it is not at all like March Madness.

The argument could also be made that 2007 LSU contributed to the problem as well. They were the last team standing with three losses and lots of warts. But they appeared to be the best available option.

Oklahoma St lost to Iowa St(8-4).
If they hadn't lost, they would have been in.
Stop crying.

It doesn't fit this sport as much as those who don't know the game want it to.

With you 100%. I think for those who don't know better (including me), we're just addicted at this point. And they know it. Sigh.

Not to be a jerk to LSUFreek but it was over even before this.

I’m addicted. Been watching college ball 60 plus years. I love it. I honestly miss the old bowl system. AP, UPI polls and the arguments after bowl season who really was number 1.
The Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl were filled with awesome games. Sometimes but rarely we had a 1 and 2 matchup. But it did not matter. Even the lesser bowls before New Year’s Day were good with great matchups. Kids played ball for old U and mom and pop.
I know we are not going back to that. However, these SUITS are doing everything they can to commit suicide regarding us fans. Who the hell can afford to go to all these games and if they expand it will get worse. They have turned our sport into semi pro ball and it stinks.

Osu was a fraud. Blaming the Iowa state loss on a plane crash was automatic dusqualifier.
