This century, it has gone on to either win the SEC West outright or tie for the lead atop the division:

Auburn has 7 wins over Georgia since 2000:

2000: AU wins the West
2001: AU ties for the West; LSU owns tie-breaker
2004: AU wins the West
2005: AU ties for the West; Ark owns tie-breaker
2010: AU wins the West
2013: AU wins the West
2017: AU wins the West

It obviously takes a great Auburn team to beat Georgia. There have been some upsets in the years listed above.... 2005 and 2017 come to mind... but never in recent history has a truly bad Auburn team beat Georgia.

The good news for Auburn is that if you somehow pull the upset tomorrow, you can pretty much book your trip for Atlanta for the rematch.

I don't think Auburn fans would be too excited to watch Alabama and Georgia fight for the #1 seed in the playoffs.

You are overlooking the effects of having UGA and Bama back to back during those years. AUs schedule was unique to the rest of the SEC, since their two most physical games came back to back. A lot of those loses to UGA, resulting in limping into the Bama Game. UGA played a schedule that allowed fresh legs and minimal injuries. AU had played LSU, Ark and MSU leading up to the UGA Game.

2004, 2010 and 2013 were good teams. The rest were just better than UGA and were outcoached on the field.

The other good news is that the angle you researched so well indicates that the event is overdue in its longest waiting period.

GREAT. I was hoping for a rematch with... PENN STATE

How does UGA feel about this 2021 team vs the 2017 team? I haven’t really seen much UGA this year but I get a sense that this a better defense, how about the offense?

Yet AU has won the west, the SEC, and a NC, while another west team is in the middle of a dynasty that will not be matched in college football. UGA has one SEC crown in 16 years during historically rough stretches for UF and UT.

During that stretch 4 teams from the west have been ranked #1 in the AP or Coaches poll. UF is the only one from the east to do that.

If auburn voodoo leads to another blowout loss in JH, I will feel the same.

Here’s another fact in the same vein:

6 of the last 8 times Georgia has started 6-0, they’ve won the SEC.

This is hugely overlooked by them and understandably so. They’ve had every opportunity and advantage for years now and have done almost nothing. Just another post to remind AU fans that we are Georgia’s super bowl. Thanks I guess.

Just like techies and gators claim. After awhile, y’all all look stupid for thinking the same thing.

That's pathetic, but its amazing how this momentum ebbs and flows over all these years and our records are so close. I didn't even make an 1980 joke.

1980. Suck it UGA.
