Even Saban buying into the Gump logic

Nick can't even say we almost got beat or did get beat by a better team.
Bluegrass Miracle Effect
Bluegrass Miracle Effect
quote:
"The last two games, I'd put both those in the same category," Saban said on Monday. "We didn't play as well as a team.
quote:
"You all live in the results world out there. We kind of live in the process world. It's hard to get people to respond. It's kind of a Bluegrass Miracle phenomenon. You play bad, you win the game. Then the next week you get your (butt) kicked because nobody responded to playing bad because you won. You won the Bluegrass Miracle."

Saban isi gone after this year.

Honestly what would you want him to say in that situation. They can still make it to the big game.

Wait. Bama didn't beat themselves?

He's basically saying the better team lost when we played them. I have more respect for him after this comment.

Can we just stop referring to Gump ramblings as "Gump Logic". Logic implies there's reason somewhere in there.

Not sure I read it the same way. When you are talking about simply playing bad you are pretty much ignoring the fact that the other team could have had something to do with it.

Also said he has won three national championships and two of those teams had losses. Did not mention that one of them did not with the conference.

Could be a fall out against Auburn in 2 weeks.

How could anyone not realize Saban is a complete a-hole and full of himself when he was even at LSU?
I guess it is like the annoying girlfriend you have that you either ignore or put up with her shite why you are dating/hitting it. Once that is gone you are like man this person sucks and you can't stand being around them.
Saban was a dick while our coach and he is still a dick now. He just isn't helping win football games for us to ignore the rest of his flaws.

Come on...Most likely, they'll win the SEC championship game convincingly and play for the National Championship. He's got to talk that way

It's clear the guy misses lsu
first the Freudian slip, then the mention of the blue grass miracle.
seriously though. Why does he always have an excuse? Never says "the better team lost", "it was my fault", etc. always the players...

And where might that be?

Saban=a-hole with short man syndrome

Not that I am willing to support Gump logic in any way, but he's kind of right.
I have seen this many times in sports. A team wins a game they shouldn't have, and everybody puts the dreaded "Team of Destiny" moniker on it. Any time a group of 18-22-year-olds start thinking "destiny" is on their side, "destiny" is going to bite them in the a$$.
This also pretty much describes our performance in New Orleans. It's not that we had a close game leading into the BCSNCG, but the team went to New Orleans and thought they had "destiny" on their side. Ooops.
Nick calls it "The Process". Les calls it "the Opportunity". Either way, when you start a game thinking the result is preordained, you end up with a finish you weren't expecting.
I just hope they still think it when the WarEagleTigerPlainsmen go to Tuscaloosa.

Proof that he still thinks about coming back - I think he misses something he left - but can you blame him. Only ONE LSU Fighting Tigers out there.
Seriously, I am really not sure what is going on with him, follow this (and keep in mind, I am no conspiracy theorist, and he is a smart enough man to know these things....)
1) week b/4 LSU v bama -> he wears a purple tie to presser
2) week after LSU v bama -> he wears a sweater with purple in it during presser
3) during the same presser -> mentioned Death Valley (as if he was the coach at LSU)
4) a week after that -> mentioned LSU Bluegrass Miracle
4 straight weeks of this....
Like I said, he is smart enough to know not to do these things. So then, why?
