This is news?
Had to be at least before '59. I was born in "58 and my dad used to say that was my first sentence I could repeat.
Go to Hell Ole Miss.

He hired both of these. He will now have to fire both.
Guess he gets a do-over. :banghead:
Funny how everything changes. I used to burn Rebel flags in the SEZ when I was a kid. Alabama came after them in the hatred department. Now my kids think UF and AU are more rivals than Mississippi. In my younger days we hardly played AU and other than the Spurrier years, didn't give UF a second thought.

re: Solutions for a better gameday experience to keep fans in the stadium

All great suggestions. I have included those (except #5) in my survey from LSU and the SEC about improving the game day experience. Also:
1. Decent restrooms where you don't stand in line and walk through water/piss to get into them.
2. This is Louisiana. That is the best food we can offer? Improve the concession stands and the food.
3. It's incredible that in an outdoor stadium, you can't or won't provide a smoking area. I know a lot of people don't smoke but some of us heathens do.
I have six tickets and haven't gone to a game in 3 years. For 6 grand for 6 tickets and a parking pass you get damn little if you aren't in the club/suite level. Had just as soon watch on the big screen, eat good food, have a cocktail, a clean restroom and a comfy chair.

We played at Arizona State because of Katrina. We moved the UT game to Monday because of Rita. Both of those in one year. UF could have agreed to either and this would have been solved. Screw them. Let them refund their season ticket holders.
The SEC needs to come out and say that not playing the game will not count against either team. Percentages out. Record In.

re: Highest ranked team to not play in January!

So you would rather play in the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl, Heart of Dallas Bowl, Outback Bowl, BBVA Compass Bowl or the GoDaddy.com Bowl because they are played in January? January doesn't mean what it once did when only the best 4 or 5 were in January.
Would I rather be in the Cotton or a BCS Bowl, sure. It didn't work out that way but I would rather be in Atlanta on NYE than any of the bowls above or the Capital One with its shitty stadium (new field included).

Not in a million..

sheppard and hill went to waste. hill is great and shouldve played a lot more than he did.
Shep? Oh please. Hill? Does the name Alfred Blue ring a bell or was he just a flash in the pan. And Ware, Hilliard and Ford should ride the bench.
Holy shite.

I don't think any of realized how important the '05 UT game was at the time. Had we won that one, I think we would have gotten lots of love from pollsters and been 1 or 2 instead of 3 going into the SECCG.
That said, I think '05 was a great job by Miles. Saban would have imploded with all of the distractions interfering with the process. Besides, if Jamarcus doesn't throw away the chip shot field goal at the end of the first half, we aren't in OT anyway.

Actually, he did not win the SEC in '08. He won the west, UF won the title.

I wasn't talking about the games that we barely won that we could or even should have lossed because we were outplayed...I'm talking the games where footballs bounced straight up to our kicker on fake fg's.
What teams don't have good fortune? How about games where we had bad luck? Those must have just been bad calls or sloppy play.
And lossed. Seriously.

Who said anything about a fcking recruiting class? Im talking about players this year who started. We had a lot of talent this year that went to waste. Can you at least agree with that?
WTF. Who went to waste and how? No, I don't think most people agree with that
I do. They are different people but both have done a lot in the profession and a great deal for LSU. I hate that Saban works at Alabama but have long since dealt with the frustration over that.

So you mean to tell me, no matter who the coach is, if he doesn't win a NC he needs to be fired?

I've never said that.
No I do not think Les should be fired.
However, if he would have left I wouldn't have been butthurt like the poeple that love our chance to play in Chicken sandwich bowl
So, you fall into into the NC or bust crowd but you don't want Les fired. Which is it? I mean, Les is not winning NC's every year so what gives?

It is simply about expectations. I think being in the hunt for SEC titles, National Championships and being highly ranked is what many teams fans would give their left nut for. Content or satisfied may not be the right words.
The people that are only satisfied with National Championships are going to be disappointed way more often than they will be pleased.
Just win is the answer. If you win enough, long enough you will be in contention to win it all.
