Who are we going to hire? Can we attract another coach with a proven track record? If not, I really don't see the point of firing Jimbo at this juncture. We're just gonna end up with an underwhelming hire and drive away our recruits. I think the best course of action right now is to keep him until a decent coach becomes available, and by then his buyout will be more manageable. In the meantime, put pressure on him to make some significant changes.

BK and Lincoln Riley weren’t available. You pony up the money and make them say no

Good post. So many programs, so few good head coaches.

Threat of getting fired? I think he does care about his reputation.

Keep Jimbo. Find new offensive coordinator. The defense isn't thst bad. It's the only answer.

Our first mistake was putting so much weight in track record (Jimbo won a natty 5 years before we hired him then wasn’t bowl eligible the year before we hired him SMH) instead of fit.

Sure, track record matters, but not sure why that’s A&M’s obsession when our program has no track record to speak of. Get the right fit. Matt Campbell, TT’s current coach is crushing texas recruiting, etc. Hell, give Dan Mullens a call?

Unfortunately for y'all (fortunate for the rest of us though), Jimbo will get at least another year to see what he can do with his "best recruiting class of ALL TIME"

Y'all are playing a lot of freshmen right now and basically in a rebuilding phase despite all the hype you had preseason. He'll get at least another year to see how that top class and all those freshmen mature

You're still A&M

Lol Bear Bryant couldn't win a title there. Jimbo is a coach, not miracle worker

So you feel jumbos situation isn’t effectively driving of recruits? Will it take an exodus via the portal? An inability to replace staff? Only having 12 commits halfway through the season? Where is the threshold for you? Where is your Popeyes moment.

There is no reason to fire Jimbo, y’all are Texas 8&4 and always will be. When Texas get here y’all are right back to little brother status and will remain there until the aliens arrive and take over the planet, ending college football!

Bear was winning at A&M after starting out with The Junction Boys (very good movie to watch) and was on track to an undefeated season until Bama’s tortious interference and word got out that “Mama called”.
