You realize Arkansas plays at least 5 other teams much more relevant than texas right?
Fully expected this from Aggies. 75% of fans on here expect us to lose, but if we win..."Congrats on beating the worst team in the league. You guys are going to get skull drug by Mississippi State dur"

I have a feeling Iowa state and Indiana are going to fall back significantly

Hope not. I enjoy watching ISU and IU do well in football. It’s good for the sport IMO.

I can’t wait to see the souls of the A&M faithful crushed after all this hype placed on their team in the offseason turns into tears.
We will all be here like always for their October/November collapse. Perennial .500 program.

If Cincinnati can beat 9.ND, 17.Indiana, and Ranked UCF (possibly twice) they might find a way into the CFP.

What was LSU ranked by ESPN before 2019 season.
Dunno what ESPN ranked them but the AP had them ranked #6 in their preseason poll heading into 2019. Just about every single national champion since the Bowl Coalition started in 1992 has been ranked inside the Top 10 in the preseason rankings.
1992 - Alabama (#9)
1993 - Florida State (#1)
1994 - Nebraska (#4)
1995 - Nebraska (#2)
1996 - Florida (#4)
1997 - Michigan (#14)/Nebraska (#6)
1998 - Tennessee (#10)
1999 - Florida State (#1)
2000 - Oklahoma (#19)
2001 - Miami (#2)
2002 - Ohio State (#13)
2003 - LSU (#14)/USC (#8)
2004 - USC (#1)
2005 - Texas (#2)
2006 - Florida (#7)
2007 - LSU (#2)
2008 - Florida (#5)
2009 - Alabama (#5)
2010 - Auburn (#22)
2011 - Alabama (#2)
2012 - Alabama (#2)
2013 - Florida State (#11)
2014 - Ohio State (#5)
2015 - Alabama (#3)
2016 - Clemson (#2)
2017 - Alabama (#1)
2018 - Clemson (#2)
2019 - LSU (#6)
2020 - Alabama (#3)

This is an interesting stat.. More interesting to me.. Not one single champ started the season unranked. Then again, only 14? different teams have won since 1992.

What does that matter? Burrow and Brady aren't walking through the door to save the shrimp boat captain.

Guess we'll have to hire Hugh Freeze or Lane Kiffin then

Is B.S. except for BAMA. I’d rather have the GATORS ranked 26th at the start with a 26 position move up, not down,by December.
Objectively, Florida shouldn't be ranked to start the preseason.

The simple fact is there are a lot of teams that don’t even pass the eye test against teams like A&M.
sorry, I don't get this logic.
You just lost your four year starting QB and four of your starting OL. Your starting QB, whoever it is, has very little, if any, college experience. A&M may have a very good year, but you lost most of your O.

For 4 years we’ve all agreed that Mond was slightly above average so it’s not a huge leap to say we might stay even at that spot or even improve with a rookie
We actually have big fast guys waiting to fill those OL spots, yes we lose some experience but we’re bringing an all sec rb to the table and a stud TE so that makes a huge difference

The thing with four year starters..............whether they produce at a high level or not, they know the playbook. Mond was a better QB than he got credit for, IMO. It isn't easy to just replace him with a guy who has little to no college experience. A year down the road...........maybe.

See the problem with Preseason polls is that you basically have 3 different lines of thinking with it.
1. You have people who vote where they believe teams left off last season. If you were #5 to end the year last season, that's where I"m putting you to begin this year.
2. After movement of players in and out of the program from last season and what you have returning, this is where I would put you to start this season.
3. I'm ranking you based on where I believe you will be at the end of the season, not necessarily where I believe you are currently.
All 3 methods have their obvious flaws and that's why preseason polls and polls for the first few weeks of the season are pointless and I hate that they can carry so much weight especially latter in the season when we see more of what teams actually are.

It's because of this TexAgs propaganda
