They should have never bought ESPN.

Going way way back in history, Texaco owned ESPN and sold them because they didn't see a future for that station.

Irony drips.

How does someone on YouTube get away with streaming a game that is being broadcast on ESPN?

It is kind of like whack a mole. They run until shut down then another one pops up. That has been my experience, at least. I was told there are certain apps that will find those streams for you.

They knew it wouldn't hurt them as bad this week since Bama is off.

One time I was watching a Bama game, and during the middle of a play, they ran an ad. I was surprised, but kept watching. Then another ad popped up during a play. Turns out, my uncle opened the YouTube app instead of the YouTube TV app, and we were watching a pirate stream. They are surprisingly good if you're desperate.

But there are much, much better options for people smart enough to use a android TV or Google TV streaming device. For $50, you'll never have to pay for anything, unless you want the best quality streams. For those I pay about $4/month. Those have like 45k channels from almost every country in the world. There's even Iranian channels, it's so comprehensive.

Sigh. I wish that was me, but I still cannot get my Betamax to stop blinking 12:00.

That's what Disney is counting on which is why they putting the screws to Google/YouTube TV.
I despise Disney's in your face liberal progressive agenda but unfortunately they are the parent company of ESPN/ABC where most of the SEC games are televised.
I will look hard for other alternatives before I give Disney any money.

For anyone wanting to sail the high seas, here's some basic guides...

r/piracy Megathread

They host that off Reddit so it'll never disappear. But here's the main Reddit that that links everything...

If you want solid feeds and done HD, install the RBTV app on to an android based streaming device. Those cheap Walmart Onn devices work just fine (quit buying firesticks or rokus), though Nvidia makes the best streaming devices). They may have changed the name to FCTV33.lat, because it redirects from the old site addresses. They've had a few name changes recently, but mostly just changing the numbers.

Here's a setup guide that any idiot can follow.

LINK

If you want all hd feeds and don't mind spending a few bucks a month to get 40k+live channels, get an IPTV service. If you need recommendations, i can help, but would rather not post those on here. Don't trust Reddit recommendations, since most of the are bots or resellers hiding ads. They may work, they may not. But they'll definitely change you 4-10x not then it should be.

I’m not paying $90 a month for big ten games, which is all YouTube tv will have now

Switching to Fubo but they only have multi view on select devices it looks like, more shite to buy. Sankey needs to do a better job on our next media deal, this is bullshite

The driving force of the mass exodus from cable to streaming was the inability to avoid bundling.
To have cable ment paying for hundreds of channels you never watched
Streaming allowed us to pay for whatever we wanted to watch.
Now, the same braindead business models drove the cable into the ground is starting over again with giant streaming providers.
They business model is to force consumers to continue paying for bad business acquisitions. Normally, When a large company includes a service that nobody wants, that service fails and is replaced by something more popular.
In the stupid cable (and now streaming) model, they just keep piling crap channels on top of crap channels.

The major difference with streaming is that the options are plentiful and easily obtained. The forefront are avoiding the huge business model is always going to be ahead of the model

Get a Tablo and it makes the antenna modern- aka it streams the channels to your phone or AppleTV and lets you pause and record programs

You think it's bad now. Wait until Skydance/Paramount and Disney own all the studios and channels. These mergers only screw millions of Americans.

As far as regular YT, I’ve been told something as simple as flipping the video bypasses the illegality of sharing something.

*That still sounds “too close to crossing the line” for me.
