Front page of ESPN.com reads "They've got it figured out" And it refers to the SEC's tournament success.

I just read that and came to post.

Probably bec UF will be the only team in the SEC playing on the weekend.

It doesn't change the fact that just 3 SEC teams went to the tournament compared to other conferences that put 5-7 teams in.
And the 3-0 record proves that Tennessee and Kentucky underachieved like mofos during the regular season along with other teams in the league.

That's exactly what the ESPN article said. The SEC isn't somehow an underrated basketball power conference, its just that UK and UT are finally playing up to potential.

Yes they totally have been all over it. This thread is a big bucket of fail.

Which is part of the reason Tennessee fans were so impatient with Cuonzo. There's no reason for this team to be one of the last four in. I somewhat get why broadcast teams are stressing this, they stick up for players and coaches...but their hating on UT fans is somewhat stupid*.
*Except for that whole petition thing, that was worthy of bashing.

Giving SEC credit (mostly UK article tho) but no press on ACC failure. As much press as they give to the ACC for basketball, it certainly is news that they have failed so well. If the SEC had failed in a similar way you can bet it would have gotten front page news.

Perhaps Cheese posted before the article went up.

they reported (on the U) this morning that the sec is the first conference to go 7-0 since 2008.
it's the first time that the sec is 7-0 since 1996

Like it or not, ESPN gets page views by rustling jimmies. The more negative things they can put out about schools with huge fan bases, the more jimmies rustled. Not to mention, everyone that hates those large schools will also click the links because they love seeing the jimmies rustled. Articles that are positive and talking about good things that happen probably only get 10 percent of the page views if that. This is why your nightly news went all crime and murder, and ESPN is following that blueprint.

The SEC had three solid teams. Any other teams that would have got in would have been long gone by now. This way we get to beat our chest.

I also think the most accurate way to determine how important and nationally relevant your football program is, is directly proportional to the duration and amount of coverage ESPN would give to a scandal at your school.
