Is it just me . . . but after rereading this article, I'm thinking the stories (this one and the paying players one) are related somehow. Kinda weird that two supposed long-term investigative stories are out at the same time - involving some of the same players.

The Magazine and "E:60" have obtained text messages between Mosley and his father from March 9, 2011, that show a heightened level of concern about what Mosley would say to the NCAA investigator he was going to meet after his meeting with Chizik. His father, Harrison, was particularly concerned about a photo of Dakota that hit the Internet, showing him clutching stacks of bills.

"Did you ever visit with the NCAA lady," he asks his son at 7:21 p.m. on March 9, 2011.

"Yeah, I did," Dakota answers.

"So what was said?"

"Just asked about the trips."

"What about the picture?"

"Just told them it was from my mom selling her car."

"That was it?" Harrison asks. Then he follows up with, "Call me for a minute."

are parents even allowed to know that you failed a drug test if you're over 18? HIPPA laws?

Seeing this vid furthers my suspicion that the big dog media outlets may be in cahoots with these smaller outlets (such as mrs. Roberts). What are the odds these two pieces come out this close together?

I hope it is the end of JJ, but this is old news.

HIPAA would prevent telling the parents unless authorized by the son.

That stuff is bad news and failed drug test should be treated more harshly in my opinion

Oh i think we can all agree on that. This is one of those stories that is only important because it juxtaposed to the blog story.

Chiz being linient on players is kind of what got us into this mess.

I agree with this. It's a good thing no coaches from the Chizik era are on the current coaching staff.

you guy buy spice at the gas station in 2010. just like beer.

true.

But what is with all the brow-beating and the hush money payouts? Why all the legal counsel? Why all the scandals with players and their grades at AU?

What a pathetic excuse for a "university." This is 4 or 5 separate, yet connected, scandals in a 2 1/2 year period. Why are these players coming out and saying what they say on separate occasions now, only to turn around and retract everything. What are they afraid of? Who are they afraid of? That school should be razed and the land put to good use for a change.
