1. Notre Dame doesn't recruit the same kind of athlete that gets recruited in the south.
2. Notre Dame football facilities and support staff are outdated.
3. Notre Dame isn't 100% invested in football. The athletes live and dine with the regular student body.

It's the daily stuff that adds up in the end. Notre Dame just wasnt aligned.

“tradition and history”

I guess Brian Kelly made a HUGE mistake.

I posted the thread where you were posting video clips pushing Daniels for Heisman. We all know about your Arik Gilbert thread, remember when you disappeared for a while out of embarrassment over it?

We don’t even play UGa. Why are you so hell bent on discrediting LSU’s head coach, and showing a strange obsession with our third string qb? I’m just sensing some nervous energy here.

Because he’s a child who only remembers Ed Orgeron beating the frick out of his beloved pups and Kirby. He’s immature and bitter.

Not sure how you can justify this at this point. Since Day was hired, he has a better record, bowl record, more CFP appearances, has a runner up trophy, better recruiter. He’s been better than Kelly in every way.

Kelly has more skins on the wall from a career standpoint. He’s also built programs up, which is difficult. His stint at Norte Dame is impressive to me because the caliber of student is not the same as the average college. The typical elite jock is not getting into Norte Dame. I am genuinely curious to see how Kelly does at LSU. If he sticks to his track record, he will win a title.

As for Day, he took over a program on top. I’m impressed with his ability to maintain it, which is no small task. However he didn’t build it up. I think it’s fair to list him as a top tier coach, but I wouldn’t place him above Kelly looking at both their resumes currently. Time will tell. Until then we are just pissing in the wind

To answer your question I think LSU and ND are about the same. ND recruits itself.

Mark Richt would've won a title at LSU.

The same things that kept him from doing it at UGA would have kept him from doing it at LSU.

For years, I thought that Richt would get over the hump when that transformational player finally made it to campus, and then it became clear that he had numerous such players. Rather, he had numerous players that should have been.

2019 LSU team… lightning in a bottle

Considering LSU had two recent championships prior to 2019 (and contended for yet another), and UGA’s most recent prior championship was 1980, which was the bigger fluke, 2019 LSU or 2021 UGA?

The football players at every university live with the regular student body. The NCAA hasn't allowed athletic dorms for years.

UGA simply built a housing complex (East Campus Village) big enough to house its athletes and enough non-athletes to comply with the rule.

This isn’t what happened at all and you know it. You failed to mention the part where everyone, (including a UF fan who hates me) called you out for being a lying clickbait bitch.

It’s sad you have nothing on me so you have to make it up

This is just not true. There’s nothing they care about more.

True about the sidewalk fans, but the administration and clergy certainly cares more about their academic standing and reputation.

they care more than you think. Their alumni is as invested as any other program and they have a Top 5 Student section in CFB

I think it will be interesting to see what Notre Dame looks like under Marcus Freeman, they were obviously floundering somewhat pre Brian Kelly.

They're obviously recruiting better, I think both Kelly and Notre Dame had kind of soured on each other and both were just going through the motions.

I found the hire to be kind of interesting though, you'd have thought that Notre Dame would've pursued a more experienced head coach like Luke Fickell or Matt Campbell.

This is not what ND did.

Kelly left a real nice team for Freeman to coach this season.

For the BK bashers, the average winning percentage for the three full-time coaches at ND between him and Holtz was .577. His ND winning percentage at ND was .726. That's a big jump.

He was 118-35-2 at GVSU with two national championships, a runner-up finish, and two other playoff appearances. GVSU had never been to the national championship game prior to his time as coach.

He got Central Michigan to a bowl game within three years. The two coaches prior to him had losing records and had one bowl game between them, and that was seven years prior to BK arriving on campus.

He was 34-6 at Cincy including a 12-0 season and got them to two NY6 bowls.

Anyone saying he isn't a top-10 coach is blinded by team bias.

Absolutely.

There's really no excuse for them to lose more than two games in the regular season.

Why is Paul Hornung (influential Notre Dame alum) recently on record as saying Notre Dame should lower its academic standards “because we must get the black athlete if we’re going to compete”?

Why can’t a lot of these great athletes gain entrance into Notre Dame, while being able to get accepted into most public state schools?

Then why did Kelly provide a wish list for facility updates and Notre Dame wouldn't approve it. Kelly on numerous occasions has cited this as the major factor to leaving Notre Dame for LSU
