True about the sidewalk fans, but the administration and clergy certainly cares more about their academic standing and reputation.

Shocking, isn't it, that an academic institution would care about such things.

Based on what exactly?

Cincinnatis coach is far better. He took a no name program to the playoffs. Jimbo loses 3-4 games a year. He had one great season due to Winston at FSU. Franklin hasn’t done shite at PSU

Sure thing little fella. You lost all credibility on this board with your Gilbert take, then you were just wrong with your Daniels puffing (it happens). You had a chance to regain some measure of credibility on this board with respecting the board's vote in favor of TexAg7 as Worst Poster, but you blew that too. Don't get upset about it now.

Saban, Miles, and Orgeron - None of them were Top 25 much less Top 10 when they arrived at LSU. They all left with a national championship.

I’m excited to see what it’s like to have someone come in who is qualified already.

Franklin has been there 8 years and has produced 1 or maybe 2 National Championship contenders. He’s not bad but he’s fairly overrated

Yup. I'll never forget wondering why the hell people actually wanted Franklin after we fired O. He's content with being good, not great.

The guy who plays in one of the weakest conferences around with zero competition the last decade and has had to rely on two cheatmode QBs to win anything is the 2nd best in the country?

Yeah ok.

More people need to be talking about how fraudulent Dabo "Osteen" Swinney is

He lucked into 2 video game QBs and that is the only reason Clemson is no longer associated with "Clemsoning"

We're seeing his true abilities now that he doesn't have a NFL starting QB at the helm.

Edit: and Deshaun Watson is a massive pervert

Is recruiting 5* QBs really luck? They are supposed to be good. And neither won the heisman. He also recruited a coaching staff that consistently has a top 10 Def. Doesn’t seem much like luck as much as this board hates all things Clemson

I never claiomed he was lucky, I simply said that the entire reason anyone even thinks of him as any better than like jim grobe or somethign is because of those 2 (plus the painfully weak schedule). I mean let's just look at his entire career, starting with his first time season at the helm:

2009-2014, 6 seaosons: 57-23, 71%. 0 top 5 finishes. 1 (or 2, depending on what poll you use) top 10 finishes. 4 seasons finishing 15th or worse.

___Watson takes over as full time starter____

2015-16, 2 seasons: 28-2, 93%. 2 NCG appearances with 1 win
____________________

2017 (No watson/trevor yet): 12-2, boat raced in bowl game where they didn't even look competitive.

___Lawrence era begins____

2018-2020, 3 seasons: 39-3, 93%. 3 playoffs, 2 NCG appearances, 1 win
________

2021: 10-3, Cheezit bowl, ranked outside top 15.

-Dabo has been a full time HC for 13 seasons. In the 5 seasons in which watson/lawrence started he went 67-5 at 93%. In the 8 seasons he didn't have those 2 starting he went 79-28 at 74%. There is simply no way you can say he's the 2nd best coach in all of CFB when the data points to him only winning large when he has a "generational" talent at QB taht is going to be a high draft pick. The guy ranked right behind him, Kirby, has won a title with a walkon at QB, and has shown he can make it to the playoffs and win a game there with an entirely different roster. All dabo has shown is that if he doesn't have a 1st round QB he isn't doing shite.

Give me Gundy over Franklin all day. Hell Gundy would beat most of these teams with his 3 stars.

the one that has losses to
Louisiville
Northwestern
Arizona St
Stanford
NC State
Navy
Duke
Va Tech
Tulsa

he has more $hitty losses than Nick has losses. Go ahead with all the 'academic" stuff you want. Those teams should never beat Notre Dame in their worst years.
