Mizzou loses every backup QB they have to portal or surgery, pick up a guy who hasn’t played more than a couple games in years, and now we have elite depth? OK
We must have had super duper elite depth last year then.

You sorted the list by yards per game of total offense. The stat I provide was for season long total offense.

1 Jayden Daniels LSU Sr. QB 12 462 4946

ha. Jalen Milroe at 4 ? For that matter Beck didn't look like the best qb in the nation when he played Alabama.

So a competent QB on a talented team with an extra game and a weak schedule?

Carson Beck against ranked opponents (season end rankings).

FSU - 13-18 for 203 yards, 72% completion, 2 TD, 0 INT. 203 passer rating. Played a half.

Bama - 21-29 for 243 yards, 72% completion, 0 TD, 0 INT. 142 passer rating.

Tennessee - 24-30 for 298 yards. 80% completion. 3 TD, 0 INT. 196 passer rating.

Ole Miss - 18-25 for 306 yards. 72% completion. 2 TD, 1 INT. 193 passer rating.

Mizzou - 21-32 for 254 yards. 66% completion. 2 TD, 0 INT. 152 passer rating.

Against ranked teams in total: 97-132 (73%), 1304 yards (9.9 yards per attempt), 9 TD to 1 INT.

That's a pretty good stat line against ranked teams, particularly with interceptions.

You can believe he's just an average QB if you like. Average QB's don't generally have multipl3 300 yard games and 190+ passer rating games against ranked opponents. Even surrounded by a talented roster.

He's a pretty darn good QB. Not a "wow" guy, but he just completes passes, racks up yards and doesn't make mistakes.

Try harder.

#5 scoring offense per game
#5 total offense per game

You cries of "average QB" don't work when he's doing what great QBs do (move the ball downfield and score).

2024 will be interesting because he won't have 2 NFL receivers (Ladd and Bowers). You've posted once or twice about Ladd... haven't you? It reminds us how shitty your football IQ really is.

Both receivers were hurt for almost half of the 2023 season. But they did impact the offense when they were on the field. A little more weight will be on Beck without them in 2024.

That was probably one of his worst performances of the year.

Come on dude, BAMA was the first team Georgia played with a defensive pulse. FSU didn't have the personnel to beat a Sunbelt team.

He still had 8.4 yards per pass attempt and completed 72% of his passes against Bama.

The point is while it was HIS worst performance of the year, it will still a solid performance. His biggest issue was a very inopportune fumble that led to a Bama FG. And a part of that can be blamed on the UGA player who dropped the toss.

Bama's defense did do well against the UGA running game which was a big part of them winning. But while they slowed Beck's passing below his season average, UGA will still having success throwing the ball. Heck, half of UGA's punts came from failure to convert 3rd and short running plays.

Beck seems to have good QB instincts, pretty good in the pocket, good size, strong arm, and can make most throws. Having a cheat code to throw to in Bowers certainly helped.

Like you said, he wasn't great against us, but our defense had a lot to do with that. He still brought UGA back within a score in the last minutes. I see him having another exceptional season next season. Who does UGA have coming back at WR?

#2 Dominic Lovett (54 catches, 613 yards)
#5 RaRa Thomas (23 catches, 383 yards)
#6 Dillon Bell (29 catches, 355 yards)
#7 Oscar Delp (TE, 24 cathces, 284 yards)

Along with Arian Smith and the hope he won't be injured for once and younger guys who didn't get a ton of catches.

We also bring in through the transfer portal:

Stanford TE Ben Yurosek (16 catches for 239 yards, but had 445 and 653 yards the two seasons before that)
SoCal WR Michael Jackson III (17 catches for 146 yards)
Miami WR Colbie Young (47 catches for 563 yards)
Vandy WR London Humphreys (22 catches for 439 yards)
