How do you put Deboer in there after what he did last year?
Kalen Deboer was the first Alabama coach since Wallace Wade in 1931 to have 9 wins in their first season at Alabama.
Judging any coach on their first year at a program is foolhardy. Bear Bryant went 5-4-1 in his first season at Alabama. Nick Saban went 7-6 his first season at Alabama. Kirby Smart went 8-5 his first season at Georgia. Bobby Bowden went 5-6 his first season at Florida State. All are or will be hall of fame coaches, probably all will be considered top 10 coaches all time.
On the other hand, Les Miles went 11-2 in his first season at LSU. Gus Malzhan went 12-2 his first season at Auburn. Larry Coker went 12-0 his first season at Miami.
A coaches’ first year at a school is a very bad measure of what kind of coach they are or a predictor of future success.

Two of the three won a natty and Gus had an appearance.
Hardly examples of bad coaches.

Marcus Freeman being a better coach than old geezer Kelly has truly hurt sidewalks fee-fees

Let the frenetic defense commence

None will be hall of fame coaches. Their last three seasons at their respective schools they went:
Miles: 10-3, 8-5, 9-3
Malzhan: 8-5, 9-4, 6-5
Coker: 9-3, 9-3, 7-6
Not bad coaches. But certainly not great coaches.
And winning one lone national championship isn’t a very good measure of a coach. Gene Chizik won one. Ed Orgeron won one. Bill McCartney won one. Terry Bowden should have (he did win the NCF, whatever that is). Sometimes coaches that have no business winning a national championship catch lightning in a bottle with special players or assistants for a season.

Les would be if LSU wouldn't have vacated so many of his wins.

So you now believe that Ed Orgeron is a better coach than Brian Kelly? That is what you are saying. Coach O does have a national title on his resume.
No, he wouldn’t. Not with all the smoke surrounding sexual harassment. He couldn’t even keep his job at Kansas because of it, so the hall of fame would be a no go regardless of record.

Imagine being all excited because your coach is 7th and your rival’s coach is 11th in a fantasy “ranking” by a dying media source.

Nope, typical strawman argument from you.

That's your opinion so it really doesn't mean much at all.

Why is Deion Sanders not #1?

I am just glad both LSU and Notre Dame upgraded at head coach. Other LSU fans should be as enthusiastic and supportive of Kelly as you are.

This season will be the inflection point of his tenure so it's put up or shut up time for him.

I’d take Vandy’s coach over DeBoer. Far better coach and much better person.

Yeah, let’s put the coach who has lost what, 4 straight games to his arch rival,

Never said that, it's the deaths I was referring too. They're wiping out far more these days.

Well you're old and dumb, so I'm not surprised.
