LSU dominates VT in the opener while USC beats I believe Idaho 38-10. LSU wasn't even given the thought of jumping USC. Georgia plays the scrubs in the second half against GS while USC plays M. Sanchez all 4 quarters against Virginia and its a no brainer they should jump Georgia.

I'm so sick of hearing every year about Ohio State being a National Title contender.

I wouldn't vote Ohio State higher than 15 right now.

Why is ESPN making excuse after excuse for Ohio State today, when they spent all week long justifying why UGA fell for winning?

what network is the OSU-USC game being played on? answer this and the riddle is solved.

For what it's worth, the USA Today Coaches Poll dropped OSU from 3 to 5. USA Today

1. Southern California (34) 1-0 1,481 1
2. Georgia (18) 2-0 1,454 2
3. Oklahoma (3) 2-0 1,370 4
4. Florida (3) 2-0 1,306 5
5. Ohio State (1) 2-0 1,289 3
6. Missouri 2-0 1,212 7
7. LSU (2) 1-0 1,198 6

This post is right on target. Georgia drops due to ESPN like bias.

USC is over rated right from the get go for beating a team that resembled Western Carolina. Why did LSU ever drop Pacific? OSU returns 17 people on a team that looked like a lower tier SEC team after the BCS. Yet they receive a high ranking for returning these over rated starters.

The OSU game next week will probably be a 2 touchdown loss to USC, which will be just enough to let the pundits say OSU hung tough and only deserves dropping 3 or 4 spots. Leaving open OSU's return to another BCS drumming in the title game. Don't worry about USC, the dynasty with 1 BCS championship under their belt will lose 1 or 2 games to their regular inferior conference foes. With 1 loss it will be the all world rematch between OSU & USC in the BCS.

And yes, someone in the SEC will get screwed.

E-X-A-C-T-L-Y!!!

And I love how the pundits actually have the gall to say the "Beanie-less Buckyeyes" when talking about their near escape over a pathetic cellar-dwelling MAC team.

I just find it insulting as piss that ESPN is actually justifying a solid SEC team that loses their top ranking for winning and being classy about it (Richt's MO) and Ohio State sucks arse against a pushover and they make excuses for it.

Even when they lose by 4 TD's to USC this weekend I bet you anything they remain in the top 10

Not trying to start shite or anything, but Buckeye fans won't be happy after the USC game. They will get exposed yet again by another "complete" football team. This USC team is obviously 1 of the best teams in the country. The Buckeyes will learn they are not 1 of the 3 or 4 best teams but maybe 1 of the 12 or 15 best teams. This is not my opinion. This is FACT. It will be shown this next weekend.

Not the team or coaching staff, I'm sure they know their situation. That being they are blessed by having a very Big 10 slanted media that will do their best to make sure they are always floating around the top 5, no matter how obvious it is that they suck nut. So I do think the players and the coaches know they don't have the same talent that we do down here in the SEC.

It's the Buckeye fans that need a reality check. How they can still think they have one of the best programs in the nation after the past two seasons is just a mistery to me.

I don't know whether Ohio State has the same talent that the SEC does, but the NFL seems to think pretty highly of Ohio State's talent. Ohio State is projected to have somewhere around 13 players taken in the 2009 NFL Draft. Also, their 2008 recruiting class was ranked fourth nationally.

It's remarkable they still have that much talent considering they have had more players taken over the last 3 NFL Drafts than any SEC program.

Ohio State and SEC Schools by 06-08 NFL Draftees
1. Ohio State (20)
2. LSU (19)
3. Georgia (16)
4. Florida (14)
4. Auburn (14)
4. Tennessee (14)
7. Arkansas (11)
8. Alabama (8)
9. South Carolina (5)
10. Kentucky (4)
11. Vanderbilt (4)
12. Ole Miss (3)
13. Mississippi State (2)

Ohio State played in the BCS National Championship Game both of the past two seasons. Maybe that's why Buckeye fans and most non-Buckeye fans still think Ohio State is one of the best football programs in the country. I hope that clears up the mystery.

I can't wait to watch that game this weekend. OSU will get owned in that game in my opinion. USC is definitely one of the top three or four teams in the country this year.

any SEC team that goes undefeated will win the BCS now

That is far from certain. If the USC-Ohio State winner and the Oklahoma-Missouri winner are both undefeated, it's very possible that even an undefeated SEC champion could be left out again.

luck eyes lucked out again refs helped them a shitload

No kidding. Three huge plays in particular...

The fumbled punt. The guy was out of bounds when he recovered it. Should have been Ohio's ball.

After that, on third down and long, Ohio State commits the most egregious case of holding in college football history (check the right offensive guard on the replay if you have it), enabling them to pick up the Ohio blitz, giving Boeckman time to throw for the first down. This leads to an Ohio State TD instead of FG, which was a gift to begin with because they shouldn't have had the damned ball in the first place.

On the punt return, at least two glaring blocks in the back, both of which were crucial to springing him. Even your own alum, commentator Chris Speilman, pointed them out and said Ohio State got away with them.

No question the refs were helping Ohio State in the fourth quarter. Maybe the Buckeyes would've won without that help from the refs. We'll never know. One thing we do know, though, is that those refs were not going to wait around to find out.

You don't think an undefeated USC or Ohio State and an undefeated Oklahoma or Missouri would have a chance of getting into the BCSCG ahead of an undefeated LSU? They're all ahead of us now, and if they don't lose...?

I have to agree that tOSU got some calls that pumped the momentum but TB is not good and that's the OSU issue. The guys is going to get exposed yet again against USC.

I don't give a rats arse where they are in the polls right now. We'll be bitching twice as much when they hang around with one loss.

It's back to Youngstown st after the USC beat down.

Oh Stan, how could you let us down against the PAC 10?

here is an interesting question.

If the game happens to be a tough fought game between USC and OSU and they finish with one team winning by a filed goal or in overtime, will they say that they are the two best teams in the country and actually move OSU up in the polls?

Could happen!!
