There’s a component of FPI that many people are missing out on. It’s the actual defensive contributions to the FPI value (as well as Off and ST)

Example: Clemson’s FPI is 26.4 (26.4 points better than an average team on a neutral field). Their offensive component contributes 12.4 points, defense is 14.0, special teams is .1 (these values rounded). These numbers encompass ALL of FPI’s endpoints, not JUST the weighted EPA, which is what we get from the efficiencies metric that is posted on here every week.

I will say, the Auburn defense is top 5 in this portion of FPI, 2nd in the SEC only to UGA.

ETA: LSU, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Auburn, and UGA are all top 15.

No need, ESPN already explained it in the link.

You can hide behind their internal calculations all you want. No one in their right mind is going to agree that Duke/NM State/SC/S Miss/Ole Miss is as difficult of a schedule as Oregon/Tulane/Kent State/TA&M/Ms State...

Average offensive yds/play for Auburn's first five opponents = 6.66.
Average offensive yds/play for Alabama's first five opponents = 6.15.

That is without including their games against AU or UA.

ESPN has all of this data and more.

People who can’t provide context from their links should be banned from starting threads.

We were just curious which fans were insecure enough to alter the numbers and post those in their place.

Is it that hard to click the link and look at the site's information? I don't need to provide any further context to troll your punk arse.

And none of it will matter after Alabama drops 50 once again on the war birds.

I’ll give you Oregon but what do we have to suggest that Texas A&M is better than South Carolina or MSU is better than Duke?

Texas A&M looked like shite against Arkansas and meh against Clemson.

MSU scraped by ULL, got beat at home by K State, and looked ok against a Kentucky

LMAO[/quote]

Why do you folks do this to yourselves every year? The game is in Baton Rouge, a place you struggle to win. Laugh all you like, but Auburn isn't burning any cigars in Tiger Stadium these days.

No way that abortion of an LSU Defense could sniff the top 10...let alone the top 35
this is what bama fans are reduced to now...statistical victories. not even moral victories. and touting duke's pass defense.
