That game last year was an f'in atrocity. That was one of the worst coaching performances I think I've ever seen. That was the damned definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

UT fans are trying way too hard. You might have an actual team to smack talk about this year.

This - they need to STFU and let the play on the field do the trash talking.

Butch has had two great classes, now lets see if he can develope them and get them to produce where it counts.

Butch has beat Charlie Strong, James Franklin, Frank Beamer, David Cutcliffe and Steve Spurrier x2 as a head coach.

He's lost to Derek Dooley and Will Muschamp.

Safe to say 1 or two head to head matchups of coaches does not determine how good a coach is.

And let's be honest here the entire conference will be watching TN very closely this year. Because all of you and all TN fans know that this year is really the first year you can accurately judge Butch and his staffs coaching ability off of the final W/L record. So far he's met or exceeded the media's preseason expectations for our teams, but those have been piss poor due to past head coaching failures.

If he wins 8 in 2015 I think most will think he's a solid coach. If he wins 9 or more people will probably start to believe he has what it takes to be a top coach in the SEC. 7 or less and I think even big time TN fans will start to doubt his ability to ever get it done.

What does pulling two games from this season have to do with Butch beating these two guys in 2011 and 2012? Lol.

I mean, Saban lost to Charlie Weatherbie. A man who isn't even a coach anymore. I don't think that makes Saban any less of a coach. That's why I cringe anytime I see someone make that argument, because it pretty much makes them retarded.

Kiffin was a better coach. And he did it in his first year on the job. Jones is good, but it will be a while before Tennessee has finally found the next Lane Kitfin.

I hope you realize that the roster and situation Kiffin inherited in 2009 was very very very stronger than what Butch inhereited coming into a program that had 3 different head coaches the previous 5 season and followed the glorious Dooley roster development program.

Kiffin took over a roster that was head and shoulders better than what Butch inherited. That is not debatable. That argument has no legs.

Where have Tennessee fans been trash talking? Most I've seen have been pretty realistic. I guess posting a link to an ESPN article is trash talking. Either that, or you're very easily trolled.

Butch isn't yanking scholarships from kids. The kids that are leaving are doing so out of their own accord, for fear of being covered up on the depth chart or not gelling with the program. And besides, there's always ways to skirt the rules.

Keep hatin

So because Phat Phil says there's fear it makes it true?

You guys are becoming Arkansian in your eagerness to push a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The fear is real, there's no denying that.

And self-fulfilling prophecy...that word...I don't think it means what you think it means
