To put it another way, when you play well during the regular season you are going to be matched with lesser teams in the postseason.
Nah. It has mostly to do with the Baton Rouge regional having the lowest overall average team RPI, and having Clemson lose their regional and getting West Virginia instead.
Look there’s nothing wrong with luck landing your way, but there are at least 12 other SEC schools who would have made it to Omaha had they landed the same path.

You got your higher national seed and couldn’t capitalize on it.
You’re right. Again, there’s nothing wrong about drawing a fortunate regional and a Super Regional opponent like West Virginia. Not sure why LSU fans are sensitive about undeniable facts being laid out.

The point is you are constantly singling out LSU.
Georgia got a very favorable draw. Their regional should have been a cake walk and then they would have gotten Murray State in the Supers. But… they couldn’t close the deal.
Texas had a very favorable regional, but couldn’t close the deal.
No Carolina got a favorable draw not having to go up against Oregon. They couldn’t close the deal against Arizona.
I can go on, but I won’t.
You have to beat the teams that you play. West Virginia was just as formidable of an opponent, if not better, as any of the other teams that eliminated other national seeds.

I must have missed the thread about David Delucci picking Georgia to win this weekend. If you can point it out, I’ll be sure to comment.

That’s basically what I’ve been saying, Can’t control your draw. Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes you don’t.

So you think West Virginia is equal to Coastal Carolina? Again congrats on your Super Regional win. LSU advanced. Auburn didn’t. But let’s not pretend our opponents were equal.

So tell me why LSU shouldn’t be a popular pick with the teams left in the field? One would think then and Arkansas would be the favorites. So Delucci picked LSU who has already beaten Arkansas this year. You can not agree with the pick but do you think it’s crazy he would pick LSU? The RPIs of the teams left in the field literally don’t matter now
At the end of the day and with the format of the CWS, staying in the winners bracket is the name of the game. If you win your first 2 games, you have a massive advantage. LSU has two of the best pitchers in the country as their top 2 starters. If they win their first 2, they will be in the drivers seat to get to the title series. If they get that far, I like their chances winning 2/3 against anyone. It’s not complicated why anyone would make LSU their pick

No Phteven thread should ever go multiple pages. I'm ashamed to have posted in it.

DBU was RPI #19 going into selection show they were in consideration for a host. Their RPI as of today is irrelevant.
#17 RPI is considered the most difficult 2-seed.

I will say, you beat us 2/3 at your park. Both Arkansas and LSU probably capitalize on home field advantage more than anyone else in the country. We still managed to win a game and take a second game to extra innings - although the third game was disastrous for us.
It was also a month ago. If we're doing that, I'd point out how we went 2–0 against Little Rock while pitching our midweek staff and holding them to zero runs both games (while also run ruling one). They beat you once and came uncomfortably close a second time. Or how we swept #1 overall seed Vanderbilt at their field. But that's all irrelevant in June in Omaha.

Whoever said they shouldn’t be?

From Baton Rouge but he went to O.Miss. And his wife is a sweetheart of a person to go with her looks.

They dominated most of the regional and destroyed WV. They only played what was scheduled. It’s a 3 team race. LSU, Arkansas, and coastal imo
