Yes, the teeth thread was much more insightful.

Right. But she still has enough of a reputation that her article got picked up by ESPN. Is that reputation deserved? Probably not, but she's still up on ESPN's site.

Just read the ESPN story and her so called sources are crawfishing faster than a mudbug around Easter. "...no direct knowledge...just heard..must have told his friend.."etc., etc. You get the picture.

You missed the point entirely, probably because you're looking for someone to argue with. I think the woman is a joke. I was simply explaining why this article got so much run vs the TTMW thig.

Until we get confirmation on the deer antler spray angle of this story, I don't think anyone should rush to judgment.

If you mean 'argue the facts' then yes. They're are no facts in this bloggers story, only conjecture. Muschamp is totally denying the part about him handing over $400.

But hey, lets dig deeper into the 'Les Miles schtuping the coed story'. It's on the Internet.

This is what sports journalism has become: random fans now have a platform via the internet to write their opinions and make it available to everyone with a computer/smart phone. Doesn't make them journalists...just fans with opinions. Now it appears a lot of online newspapers are hiring these pseudo sports journalists/really just fans with a laptop to cover their local sports teams. Cheaper than hiring actual journalists.

Same thing for all these clowns on sports talk radio. Sad really.

So what'd y'all think Muschamp would say? "Yeah, I give kids money, what of it?" (Glaring rage face)

I don't recall the TTMW story getting picked up by ESPN, but if they did, that would only confirm my argument with TT - which is that Auburn doesn't really "get it" worse from the media.

Jesus, read the whole thread before you wade into an argument.

No, I expect a journalist to research a story and develop sources. To investigate and try to substantiate in some way the claims being made. If unable to do so, then to not report accusations that have no supportable basis.

Otherwise, here we sit with a kid on trial for armed robbery alleging a coach gave him $400 6 years ago and the coach denying it.

What can anyone do with that without more real and confirmed information?

If anything comes of this, we will then know the REC controls the NCAA.

You would also think the writer would realize that Tubs was the head coach and that this was from 2007. This is part of the story that made me LOL.

You're "arguing" with a person who holds the exact same opinion you do. That's stupid. All I said is that this story was picked up, in part, because this woman has a bit of credibility in the media. I doubt that credibility lasts much longer.

And this is what posting on this board has become: climbing up on a soapbox and screaming at anyone who might respond. Reading and understanding is hard. Arguing without context is easy.

Probably true. Just feels like it.

I think they did a story or two about it. especially when Bama said they investigated it, found absolutely no wrong doing and dissociated the booster for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

FWIW, I'm not arguing with you. I thought you have been reasonable in all of your posts that I read on this topic.

Yeah. I went back and looked that up. Again, this is a report based on evidence and first-person testimony (from Alabama administration), which is what Selena Whatever's article claims to have (first person testimony, anyway).

Why would that be funny he was still a player on the 2010 team which would made him ineligible from the time he received the money forward.
