You dont have to tell me twice.
Have you seen the other thread with the timeline in it? When you sit down and just go through all of that, its really amazing to think that Gene was only yalls coach for 4 years.

Can somebody post the ATPB web chart? It is just such a thing of beauty.

frick that, I looked at it once and it took me a week to get my fricking eyes uncrossed. Had to get rides to and from work and everything. It was terrible.

Is it me or is anyone else apathetic about this? All the I's were dotted and Ts crossed by boosters that pay the players at auburn (I'm pretty sure at this point everyone is paying players) and they seem to be smarter than the NCAA that is chasing them. Also they aren't street thugs like the miami boosters that sold them down the river so I doubt they admit to anything.
Most likely nothing will come of this, so I don't plan on getting excited about the offseason quite yet.

he thing i hate most about the story is they way they qualify roberts and chiz as former sports illustrated and NYT columnist and former auburn coach.
Or, of Duke lacrosse fame...
Just doesn't give the illusion of credibility the others do.

Of course nothing will come from this.

Exactly. If anyone can honestly admit that their Boosters don't pay players, I'll laugh to their face. People want to keep trying to stir this shite, and it will eventually blow back on somebody.

The grade changing allegations can certainly be thoroughly investigated.
Yep. The grades thing will make or break her story. Taped interviews or not, every other allegation is unprovable. Grades and attendance can be documented. He says he earned a B on work, got an F because of attendance, and the staff negotiated it to a C. He can allow the school to release his records. If you're telling the truth, do it and put them out for all to see.
Full disclosure - having read her story, I think she's full of shait. I don't think she made anything up. I think she fell for the sob story McNeal was selling and made it her business to go out and build 'facts' to fit the result she wanted but that's just as bad.

Just keep in mind that students can challenge a grade. even non-athletes.
You can be damn certain I would challenge getting an F for attendance when my coursework worked out to a B.
Because a grade was "changed" doesn't necessarily mean shenanigans.

Well if it was a business or law class then i think that's perfectly acceptable.

We do not pay players, we do give their moms, uncles and girlfriends jobs and scholarships... but never ever pay a player...

Agreed, but it is the only thing that can really be proven.
Like I said, after reading the story I think she's full of it so I don't expect any records to be forthcoming.

Spot on, she believed an alleged felon who brought up stories from 2007 and 2008... Did we stop paying after Muschamp left? She also implicates Chizik for Muschamp, but Chizik was not at Auburn...

Question: Are we all using some lady's blog as a good news source now? All ESPN did was read her blog, change a couple words, and post it to their home page. None of this is confirmed, Auburn isn't being investigated, and it's clearly a rumor.
Delete these threads just like the T-Town's Menswear and Les Miles rumor threads.

The problem is that she's not just "some lady". She's worked for and written for some pretty heavy hitting companies in the sports industry.

And also been fired from them for, well, less than credible writings.

Oh well then let's just give her a pass on not providing anything to back up the supposed quotes from the players.
