She named specific players not just anonymous sources... She wouldn't put herself at major risk to report a faulty story, unless of course she's an idiot.

I doubt anything happens. Hope not at least.

The rant is never worse than it is when there is talk of an AU scandal. Ugh.

It may be the least believeable, but (IMO) it's the only thing in the article that could potentially harm Auburn with the NCAA...

I only read through it quickly, but didn't Adams make a statement like the offer was more like an implication rather than an outright offer. Something like that.

Who ever wrote the article. I thought I saw something in a thread a while back that someone talked to her and she said it was a misunderstanding. Is this true?

She hasn't about the lies she put in the Duke lacrosse article that got her fired from the NYT, so I doubt she would with this. And she's never admitted to being wrong about that or apologized either.

Her career as a credible journalist is over if these accusations get debunked. Why take that risk if there wasn't a lot of fire to go with the smoke?

pretty much... his quotes (like everything else that didn't come directly from McNeil) were short on details.

I've actually come to enjoy these things in a sick way. It's fun watching these trolls come out from under their rocks so ecstatic, only to slither back heartbroken again when the truth comes out.

The old smoke and fire analogies. I am getting a bit of a rush of nostalgia around here this morning.

She is no longer employed by any credible news source, and has been forced to create her own website named "roopstigo". I'd say there is not much of a career left.

There are many very credible writers that work for themselves. Not sure what you're trying to grab at. But, there seems to be some fire and with ESPN leading the charge, I bet there is an investigation.

I don't agree with that.... Roberts knows exactly what she's doing. There's little doubt in my mind they players actually said these words... but they did so under the impression they were helping their friend/teammate who is going to prison. Roberts approached in that way, no doubt.

It was probably disengenuous, but not career ending... it's more like SOP.

She already did it once. Now she's got her own website she's trying to get eyes on.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we tried to keep the Felony 4 under wraps, but I think the Mike McNeil angle she took was just to be able to throw in all this other stuff, which all the players have already said are either not true or their words were taken out of context, to make it a juicy article and get hits on her website.

I'm just curious as to why she's attacking her alma mater.
