You've never heard of co-offensive coordinators? Some schools have a run game and a pass game coordinator. Some do it just for title alone (see Dameyune Craig as co-OC.) He and Hugh Nall ran that shitshow of an offense in 2003. One of my friends started on the OL during that time and played for all 3(4) OCs (Petrino, Nall/Ensminger, and Borges and says that 2003 was just awful compared to the other two.
But I'm sure he'll be great at LSU, especially with a steady hand like Orgeron at the top

Ensminger took over as OC when Franklin was fired mid-season in 2008, and made Kodi the starter. After 6 games under Ensminger, he never played quarterback again.
