Sources familiar with discussions surrounding Louisiana's growing technology and business ecosystem say Musk and his representatives have expressed interest in exploring opportunities to support LSU's athletic programs, potentially through corporate sponsorships, NIL initiatives or other forms of private investment.

The potential move would come at a pivotal moment for LSU. The Tigers are already at the center of a major national controversy involving former NFL players, NCAA eligibility rules and an increasingly contentious relationship with the SEC. The conference is now considering whether to expel LSU, with a vote scheduled for Thursday.
