Other than injuries, I don't think there has been an Alabama player "opt out" all year.

Course, Alabama is always in the playoff hunt so you might have a point.

that aside, it's about attitude, about culture, and the culture and attitude at Alabama is about representing and winning, and it all goes back to the coach. There were rumors this year that Alabama fudged on covid numbers, but if it happened, it was to play the games. There were rumors of Orgeron fudging numbers too, but it was to avoid the game. See what I mean?

You're pretty dumb if you think this was decided today or came as a surprise to the staff/team

If school was still in session I don't think this would have happened. Us having to do redo the entire schedule so Bama could blow LSU out on primetime. Finals are over and kids have gone back home.

I find myself agreeing 100% with an Aggie. This is the way of the future and it is not going back to the way it was pre opt out.

Never will be a fan of kids opting out regardless of what team they play for. Doesn't matter what their excuse is. You play to win the game and I don't want to lose to LSU.

If NFL in near future, no point in playing in meaningless games at this point.

Except this is still a regular season game (and a rival). We're not talking about the Weed Eater Bowl.

A game between two 4-5 teams is pretty meaningless in the big picture. It becomes meaningful if he tears his ACL while playing in though.

Kenny Yeboah has opted out as well. His production fell drastically as the season went out but he was still a big target.

Going to have to expand the playoff to keep more kids from opting out.

So I guess once a team is eliminated from winning their conference or making the CFP then everyone should just opt out?

For someone with a guaranteed NFL future and no real need or way to improve your stock, yeah. Quit and go work on your combine drills.

How much can you improve your draft stock with 3 days of extra drills? He couldn’t play the last regular season game of season without bitching out?
