But its LSU fans in this thread claiming that Lacy couldn't qualify to get in LSU. We all know that's a bunch of bullshite because LSU got Loston elgible the same year Bama got Lacy eligible. Actually LSU fans didn't want Lacy because M Ford was gonna be better than TRich.

The ones who actually FOLLOW recruiting would know that the staff was just worried he wouldn't qualify, not that he didn't qualify.

Regardless, Lacy wasn't going to qualify to get into LSU, so we backed off. Not sure why that's so hard for everyone here to understand.

Because its not true mostly. If LSU got Loston elgible they could have done the same with Lacy. Bama did it, so could LSU.

Hard to pull straight A's in summer school, including algebra II. LSU had Ford and decided te risk wasn't worth the reward. Woulda coulda shoulda.

What i remember is he was a ton of credits shorts, and made up like a half a year of school in a summer. LSU didn't think there was anyway he could make up the credit hours, Bama thought frick it lets make sure he gets the credit hours.

Only Vandy gets to brag about academic standard for their athletes.
I remember watching 1 sec game where the academic player of the game had a 2.9 GPA.

Not under Franklin. The only truly benchable offense under Franklin was having an ugly girlfriend.

Keenan Allen got robbed. 1000+ yards and 8 TD as a receiver is much more impressive than Lacy's 1100+ yards and 11 TD as a runningback, especially when you look further and uncover his pedestrian 4.1 yards per carry which was only ~26th among qualified runningbacks.

5th among RB's in carries. ~26th among RB's in YPC. It isn't hard to get 1100+ yards when you're carrying the ball 284 times.

5-7 years ago, maybe. Not with today's rules favoring passing games.

Allen's YPC was 28th among qualified receivers

Lacy finished 3rd in rush TDs, Allen finished 16th in receiving TDs.

How many games did Allen play without his starting QB? Eddie had several games with a back up QB. His worst two games (yards per carry) was with Rodgers on the sideline.

The frick? Alabama is a much better school than LSU academically. LSU is only above two school in the SEC academically... State and Ole Miss.

Well that's simply not true. Admission standards are comparable for undergrads. In fact, I know of several LA students who didn't get into LSU and went to Bama. The US news rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, particularly after the top tier of schools.

If you're not being sarcastic, I'm gonna have to disagree. Yards and TDs are harder to come by for a runner than a receiver in today's NFL. The fact that a running back actually outgained a receiver in both categories is pretty damned impressive.

Keenan Allen had a pro bowl QB throwing to him with a top ten TE and a very good receiving RB distracting the secondary.

Lacy consistently faced 8-9 man fronts and was the focal point of the Packers offense for half the season and excelled.

Eddie Lacy was 8th in yards and 3rd in TDs among all rushers.

Keenen Allen was 22nd in yards and part of a 7 way tie for 16th in TDs among all pass catchers.

Lacy had 11 TDs, Allen 8.

Lacy’s receiving yards, 257, doubled up Allen’s return yards, 125.

Allen 2 fumbles, Lacy 1 fumble.

Out of the 50 AP voters, Eddie received 35 votes, Allen was second with 12, three others received 1 vote apiece.

So, is Marshawn Lynch "pedestrian" as well?
