First cover for the new era
If this had happened sooner, with the NIL issues, we could’ve gone with this:

They can’t use a player on the cover
Yeah they can.
They’ve always paid the cover athlete

That makes sense. I just thought with the new rules they wouldn’t be able to. But I guess if they are graduated anyways

They used Ingram because he was drafted in 2011 and the game came out in July 2011. They use players who are out of college football the year of the release but played in the previous season. Usually a Heisman trophy winner. But they could use smith or Burrow down the line in like a Heisman commemorative cover.

They could if it is not a current college football player. See Mark Ingram on the cover of NCAA Football 12, which was released after he left Alabama.
1. They’re definitely going to use a player that played the year before the release.
2. Ingram left after the 2010 season which ends in 2011. The 2012 version of the game is released in 2011 (the summer after the 2010 season)

No new rules.
They just lost the argument that they weren’t using the players’ likenesses. (Which they clearly were)

I’m going to run 1980 Georgia vs 1939 Texas A&M

Ahh okay so really it’s not much different just randomized player looks and numbers
Posted on 2/2/21 at 11:35 am to Weagle25
So, with generic random rosters is Rutgers going to as good as LSU who will be the same as Northwestern who will be equivalent to NC State? Or will the top ranked teams now be better?
Posted on 2/2/21 at 11:37 am to SoFla Tideroller
The top teams were always better in NCAA 14. They can still adjust ratings just can’t have lookalike players.

My 12 year old is gonna hate me hogging the new console for hours each day

Possibly. Most people will go to the sites that make the custom/accurate rosters and download them to get to as close to realism as possible.

"Over 100 FBS schools will appear in the latest EA Sports college football game, per Rothstein."
I hope Alabama is one of them.

I know you're saying that jokingly but as it stands Georgia would not be.
Neither would Kentucky, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Oregon, or Miami. The deal mentioned is only with the CLC licensing company and were signed by Fermata College.
