After SMU withered and died the NCAA unofficially took the stance of never applying the death penalty again to a major program. No matter how well deserved.
And that's the thing. What has the NCAA done to compensate SMU for a punishment so bad that the NCAA admits was excessive?
Extra scholarships? Money?
The NCAA is a sham.

the NCAA is a scam but it's a voluntary member organization which means it's paid for by the big money schools in college sports. It's a scam that exists because of, and for the convenience of, Kansas, Duke, NC, etc. (and Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU, etc.)
Which is why not much is going to happen to Duke, but Missouri is probably looking at another post season ban (fortunately we've figured out a way around that by just never becoming eligible)

Duke is not in the SEC. Not sure why this was posted on this board.
Now that Zion is getting paid, he can afford a lawyer and will likely never be on record admitting anything.
The NCAA wants to avoid dealing with the college bball mess as much as possible and will not act based on anything that has come up so far.

I believe his former agent is trying to get information out of him via a civil suit she's filed. So it's possible he may have to answer in court, which would give the NCAA access.
That'll likely be a long ways down the road as this will get drug out.

To be honest, I know absolutely nothing about the topic. I don't even know who the frick Zion is.
But, the NCAA does not have subpoena power. You don't need a lawyer to not go on the record. You can just tell them to frick off.
The only source of power they have over people is they can remove eligibility.

Everyone knows that Duke bought the parents a new home.
Screw Vitale and the NCAA.

Lol, the NCAA ain't giving Duke or Kansas the death penalty.
I do hope both of those programs get hammered, but the death penalty for either of those teams ain't going to happen baws.

NCAA aside, at what point does the IRS take notice of this income? Any tax evasion issues here?
