Is Lane wanting an elite job and all that comes with it?

If he is, this is the job to take if it's offered.

More BS from fans who don't want Kiff to stay at Ole Miss. Give it up. Get used to him staying. Deal with your own programs.

One of the few spots in the country that would be a better fit for Kiffin than Ole Miss
Why are people saying this? I would’ve thought OU before Oregon. Kiffin and OM are a pretty good fit…

Oregon is such an elite job that a coach left there to go to a program that hasnt been relevant in 20 years.

The conferences they play in matter. The SEC’s tv deal adding UT and OU is about to make it more powerful than all the other conferences combined. Nobody east of the Rocky Mountains stays up until 1am to watch pac 12 football

It's Cristobal's alma mater and probably his dream job. Acting like this is some left-field hire that makes no sense is ridiculous.

Name another “elite” program who lets their successful coach leave to go to their alma mater, a non elite school. I’ll wait

While Kiffin going to Oregon would be great content on here. I still think I would have to root for you on this one.

I mean Miami has fallen off a clip but lets not act like they don't have any history

"Lets them leave"? I mean, do you think coaches can't jump ship if they want to? Miami has more of a winning history than Oregon, and the talent in Florida speaks for itself.

I know you're scared to lose Kiffin, but these things happen. Maybe Ed O will come back to coach you guys to the promised land.

Johnny Majors leaving a dominant Pitt program at the time for a once good but at the time middling Tennessee program, his alma mater, was very similar. Majors won a national title at Pitt in 1976 and left the next year for Tennessee who was coming off back to back 5 loss seasons. Thinking it makes Oregon look bad that they lost their coach to his alma mater, one that actually has a lot richer history, is a bad take.

Exactly. He came from a Miami team and era when they were good. The team that won national championships in 1989 and 1991.

Sometimes, it's not about the money either.

There's nothing Pitt could've done to keep Johnny. He built them up from scratch but they weren't home. I'd have done the same thing as would a lot of us on this board.
