It would make sense. Easier to recruit, better school, better donors,

...and it would mean being at a school that actually belongs in its present conference.

He will get out of Columbia at the first opportunity if he’s smart.

Explain to me why? I am serious. He is closer to his family. He is happy and winning and making a lot of money and is in a good position that he would end up like Gary Pinkel. Making progress to compete with the best recruiting class so far at Mizzou. He is winning games and should continue to do so next year and on. Where will he go that is a good fit and a conference where he is building something good right now? It isn't even his peak since this recruiting class is the best so far and should help get the team to compete next year and beyond.

I wouldn’t want to go to UNC. They have this weird delusion that they have to be good in football. It’s a dumb effort imo. They can have success but not every year. That expectation at a place like UNC would turn me off.

Why would he leave Mizzou for UNC? If this was a basketball coaching search, then sure, I get it. But Mizzou football is ahead of UNC football by pretty much any metric: success, revenue, attendance, viewership, conference affiliation, recruiting...

Easier path to the playoffs?

Only if he can out recruit the area with others. Here at Mizzou he doesn't have to do so much and he is doing great right now and getting better each year.

The Missouri gig is on the level of Mississippi State. A good coach can only go so far at those two places.

One can't blame Drinkwitz for looking around.

State has a t15 NIL in college football? Honestly had no clue that’s impressive.

My entire life…heard that UNC is a sleeping giant.

They’re a basketball school. They DGAF about football.

And more woke than Mizzou, and that is tough to do.

If true then why North Carolina is farther down in NIL this year and last year too? Look at recruiting ranking too!

Mack Brown was not inspiring much in football.

Look at the recruiting areas. Look at the money and prestige at the schools, Drink could easily win enough to be competitive in the ACC at UNC.

Mack has had some really good recruiting classes since he returned to UNC but it all fell apart this year. They are kind of like Miami in that they just fall apart every year at the end of the season like clockwork no matter how good the talent or who the coaches are
