Well Hurts and Tua have and have had Calvin ridley, Denonte Smith, Henry Ruggs, Cam Sims, River Foster to throw to.

LSU qB have had great receivers to throw to.

Florida QB have good receivers to throw to.

Georgia has good receivers to throw to.

All of those teams also had good to great defenses. If he was at Alabama or Georgia he would likely be the starter as good as the two sophomores they have are. If he was at LSU, LSU would be a contender right now.

Really great people exist on this board who can see through all the haterade and bullshite and acknowledge greatness, talent and performance for what it really is.

Kinda conflicted for me. He has great talent and sometimes throws a great ball but he's pretty inconsistent with his touch. Just have to see what he puts on the field this year and if he improves his touch more I'd say yeah he's got a shot of being the 1st qb taken.

Is hype warranted? Derrick Dooley is involved in his potential success this year, so a reasonable amount of tempering should go with the hype. I think he is a pretty good QB ftr.

Lots of jealousy on this board regarding Lock.

Look, it's not Mizzou fans hyping him. It's guys who cover the draft, scouts, etc.

We've got all the pieces. Should have a big year

Drew's cousin Emma (#42) knows what's up...maybe Drew will one day be as good as her.

Emma said. “Of course I want the Gamecocks want to win, but I want Drew to do good. That’s what I keep telling people: I want the Gamecocks to win, but Drew to do good.”

It’s an understandable stance for Emma. Drew and Emma were born just four months apart and their families live next door to each other in Lee’s Summit, Mo., outside Kansas City. They went from being in diapers together to being voted most athletic in their senior class when they graduated in 2015.

“We have been together for a long time,” she said.

Emma set out on her own path, even though she's not the first Gamecock in the family — she said a pair of her cousins played for South Carolina in baseball a while ago. But she did opt against the grain, as her desire to try something different, play both indoor and beach volleyball and compete in the SEC led her to South Carolina.

“Mizzou is big in my family,” she said. “So it was kind of hard whenever I came here for them. … They were super stoked for me, don’t get me wrong. They just had to get used to wearing Gamecocks gear and not Mizzou.”

Lock has NFL talent but he needs the players and coaches(OC) to do well around him. I wish he hadn't played his true freshman year because he wasn't ready and the team was bad.

Drew Lock is a good qb. Best deep ball I have seen in some time. Every win Mizzou gets is because of his arm, because the Mizzou defense is Swiss cheese.

THANK YOU, we have some OBJECTIVITY round here, holy crap people pursuing the most illogical means to minimize a really talented and productive QB its almost laughable the dude possesses the SIZE, ATTRIBUTES, AND STATS to justify his hype these peeps some Skip Baylesses they are

We hope it's improved, because even if we can field just an average defense we are going to be pretty good.

big win in the 4th quarter

Coaching changes, struggling team, Missouri, nfl departures...all of these factors contribute to his lack of a signature win.

But seriously, Locke is impressive
