What is up with Dooley's crying and bitching as if he was cheated out of something rather than just growing a pair and admitting that he screwed up? I know it is a really tough thing to admit that you lost a game to an assclown that was asking for a drink and nachos as the final seconds ticked off, but c'mon.

quote:

"Things happened fast and guys didn't run off the field. The ball was snapped pretty quickly, and so we lose the game," Dooley said. "The rule is, when they run guys out on the field, we have to have adequate time to run guys off."

He had 13 guys standing on the line when the ball was snapped after LSU had been standing there for nearly 30 seconds.

quote:

Dooley said an appeal would probably be futile and that his team would have to find a way to grow from the experience. "Sometimes you do everything right and things don't go your way. All you can do is move on," Dooley said.

Sometimes you do everything right? This would greatly concern me if I were a Vol. People like to keep bringing up the fact that Dooley is a Saban protege, but he did not look or sound like Saban after these statements. He sounded immature and unknowledgeable. Essentially Kiffin without the confidence. I think Dooley got exposed.

And does the UT QB Simms often spit diarrhea out of his mouth:

quote:

"We let one slip away right there," Simms said. "We had a chance to beat a really good football team in their house and they know that. They know we beat them at every phase of the game.

Beat them at every phase of the game?

Score: LSU-16, UT-14
First Downs: LSU-20, UT-12
Passing: LSU-215, UT-121
Rushing: LSU-219, UT-96
3rd Down Conversions: LSU-7/16, UT-7/15

Simms: 12/23, 121 yards
Lee: 16/23, 189 yards, 1 INT

All of the above while both teams essentially split TOP.

Lee actually outplayed Simms...without his 3rd and 4th down completions LSU loses this game.

And without Dooley's f'up at the end, LSU loses.

It is such a shame that LSU, with all their insane athletes, would have to even be talking about this kind of stuff. You should have tea-bagged UT.

Only strengthens my belief that players really don't care or even bother to look at stats in these interviews. They just say whatever it is they feel.

They had time to get off the field anyways. There problem was that 2 running off the field turned around and came back on the field.

You leave out the "Miles-Crowton Factor".

With these guys on your sideline or with a headset, no game is a gimme. They'll do just enough to keep it close. Even if LSU doesn't turn it over 4 times.

*UT did win the turnover phase; 0 - 4.

I haven't heard a player say something that goddamn stupid since Colt McCoy in his postgame after the NC last year.
