Actually this is a fail. Fan Day isn't until August.

I ain't black, and I ain't reaching. When the colors of the bank are crimson and white, the website has a houndstooth hat logo and the fricking bank is named "Bryant"....it's not after Paul Bryant Jr.

Oh don't be such a buzz kill... the aubies need something to make themselves feel better... after all they are aubies

Because it's named after Bear Bryant, not his son. And the fact you can't admit that is ridiculous. You admit that with your next answer when you said "No, it wouldn't be named Bryant if Bear hadn't been successful."
Quite being so dense. Bryant Bank would NOT be named Bryant Bank, if Bryant Jr wasn't involved. There are also, ALOT of sons who wouldn't be near as successful in life, had their fathers not been so first. I said, yes, they use his dad as a marketing ploy. That's good business.
What you have backed away from in your replies is that Bryant Bank is a way fans idolize Bear. It was a stupid statement and one that you cannot logically argue. It's ok to admit you were wrong about something. Being a bankers son doesn't make you 100% right all the time.

I haven't backed away from shite. Not only have I exposed your flawed argument, you have done it yourself several times.

I'm not above admitting when I'm wrong. But I'm not in this case. You are.

I know I am biased, but UA is just in a whole different league of their own when it comes to obsession and worship of players/coaches. I have friends that go to UA and they will admit that their fans are nuttier than others. they just embrace it think it and crack jokes about it, instead of getting defensive like some posters on here

You still haven't answered. Would the bank be named Bryant bank without Bryant Jr being involved?
So you think, using marketing ploys is equivalent to idolizing? If so, then Cammy Cam juice koozies means Cam is idolized by a very large portion of your fanbase.
Since your argument has been, that you know of no other Banks to have been named after CEO's, then that makes it another argument for idolizing Bear, then are to assume that since there are no other banks named after coaches, then it must not be named after Bryant?

Bryant Bank is named Bryant Bank because the Bryant family owns a large chunk of it. I don't think it has anything to do with idolatry, stop being stupid please.

Not defensive at all. I said Bama has their fair share. The pic proves it along with many others. Hell just google and you'll see. The defense mechanism in some auburn fans though, when it's said they have the same element is laughable. Kinda like when they went off on Bama's trophy walmart tour. Then had to eat a ton of crow when their own tour exposed all those graduates of Au, since, you know.. only Auburn fans are graduates of there.

I have answered that. No, it would not be named Bryant Bank if he wasn't involved. Just like theres not a carwash named Bryant Carwash because he's not involved. It does not change the fact that the bank is named that because of his father, and the fact that they knew it would drum up business. There in itself is the idolatry of your former coach. They didn't name it Crimson Bank, or Tide Bank. They named it Bryant Bank because it would bring in portions of your fanbase.

Not the same and you know it. Cam Newton just finished up his career at Auburn. If they're are selling those years from now, get back to me.

See, now you're just being retarded. And after your previous post about saying that it's okay for me to admit when I'm wrong, you're being hypocritical as well.

The Alabama fanbase's idolatry of coaches is "unique" to say the least.
The Auburn Fanbase's Idolatry to be like Alabama is "Unique" as well
No means No Zach!!!

I don't even know where to start with this. Figure out how to quote correctly and I might consider wasting my time on you.

yeah i was hoping the wal mart tour could have just ended it with the bama nation
every school has its runts,i think with UA its just kind of a different culture, (enter 13 champs remark).
just more intense/passionate/crazy/idiotic. it can get pretty ridiculous

First time you've answered. That alone should end the discussion about it being about fans idolizing Bear.

drum up business
You confuse this with idolizing. Does every Auburn fan that boycotted with the Never to Yield foundation and used only Auburn supportive businesses now idolize those businesses? Just because a business is supported because of their support and likes and same mindedness, doesn't mean they're idolized.

You idolize, or you don't. Time isn't a factor and whether it's the present, past or future does not make a difference. By your arguments, a VAST amount of your fanbase is idolizing Cam by purchasing those. If not for Cam, they would not sell.

Because I used your same argument to show how bad of one it was?

Agreed. I believe it's due to their sustained success over time. You can look at Notre Dame, Oklahoma USC, Ohio St and Michigan and probably find a similar makeup of fans that feel the same way.

Are you dumb frickers in this thread really arguing about the name of a bank and it's relationship with Bear Bryant? Who's winning?
Posted on 4/15/11 at 1:35 pm to Aman
Just arguing the point that he stated that Bryant Bank was an example of Bama fans idolizing Bear.
