Wow.

The endowment for Texas is 31 billion dollars.

Tennessee has roughly 5% of that.

IF Texas wants to pay for a coach no one is matching them. Doesnt mean the get everyone they want, but if is down to money...there is only one winner here.

To call you a moron would be insulting to morons.

You obviously have no clue about the relationship of endowment to athletic funding.

Harvard University would like a word with you: Assets under management: 49.44 billion USD (2022)

Idiot.

Tennessee and several other schools can match Texas in athletic funding.

I do think it will be soon for Elander to get that HC position somewhere (If that's something he wants...) Somebody will be getting a killer for head coach. Love Elander and you can tell the players do too.

He is a dead man walking.. the rumor is that our new coach is still playing.. but when he is done, Pierce will be fired and the new coach will be hired. This aligns with CDC's other hires in the past. In addition, there is a lot of smoke that Pierce is done.. and CDC hasn't put out the fire.. which leads to further speculation.

Vitello is who I want the most.. but I don't think he is leaving TN, and my comment was just a joke based on another post from earlier in the day.. some Auburn fan said his uncle has connections to big Texas donors.. and his uncle told him Vitello to Texas was a done deal.

So who are we hiring? Who knows.. I just don't see Pierce back for next year.

I have said for a few weeks that I think it will be Bakich.. and he just finished up, so if it is him, we may see some movement soon.

Elander is only 33 years old, but I have heard good things about him.. and he was born in Austin.. played in college at TCU when CDC was there with Vitello.. so there definitely is a connection there..

If we paired him with Tulo and an elite Pitching Coach, I'd sign up for that today.. but I don't know that we will go for someone without any head coaching experience..

and his wife is from Round Rock.. and they have small kids.. and her family is still there.. hmm.. there could be something there.. with or without Vitello

That's the issue I see. Not a good place to go and be a first time head coach. First season in SEC, booster politics, and pressure. Big ask for a first time HC anywhere but particularly at Texas because of expectations.

I would normally agree, but teams may be looking at what Vitello has done as a first time HC? It would def be hard for me as an AD to pull that trigger though

It's a big risk.. but if you can't hire one of the big guns, there is a lot to like about someone with his resume, even at a young age.

Ideally, you could bring in a coach who only wants to coach for 3-5 more years, and bring in Elander underneath him, and groom him to take over.. someone with a strong pitching background.. and then when that coach retires, you just have to go out and find a really good Pitching Coach..

Hey Hogs.. you know anyone that matches that description?

HC Elander

Pitching Coach - Frank Anderson - PC for Augie 2000-2003 at Texas, so he knows all about the position and can guide him through the process

Hitting Coach - Tulo - worked for Pierce in 2021 & 2022 so he also knows a lot about the position

Recruiting Coordinator - Kevin Hart

Sold. Where do I sign?

That’s cute, Texas wants play pretend again. And just because it hasn’t worked out that way for any of their programs is no reason to stop now.

Now do how many conferences each of you has destroyed

I still think it was a mistake to let you in the SEC. You guys are a toxic mess for conferences.

Arkansas 0.33
A&M 0.25
Nebraska 0.25
Missouri 0.25
Colorado 0.25

Arkansas started the SWC dominoes.

Nebraska, Colorado, A&M & Missouri started the Big 12 dominoes..
though technically the Big 12 is alive and well

Yes, they will all say that Texas was the bad guy and caused the problems, just like every ex on the planet..

"It wasn't my fault. He did this, that and then he did this.."

But guess what.. He stayed and they left. So who is at fault?

Why do you think it was a mistake? Do you feel like it would have been better for Texas to go to the B1G? That would have just led to a path with all teams in 1 conference.
