An elite passing game would've scored points on Georgia, hence the SECCG.
Ok now do CFP CG
You stupid or something?

They were like #26 in total offense.
That’s only because of garbage time.

LSU fans don’t understand averages. I’ve been trying for ages now

Didn't their two best receivers get injured?

If you didn’t need defense to win championships then the Big 12 would’ve dominated the last decade.

In general, any time you have a drop dead great defense it really takes pressure off the offense and makes everything easier. I love the years where we've had that kind of defense. Throw a pick or fumble on your own 20, "F you, you ain't scoring".

I think those days are generally gone, at least when you're playing good competition.
The rules are just skewed too much in favor of offenses.

Uga was 119th in plays per game, which renders any total “stat” irrelevant.
As for bama, it was all about the pressure on their qb. Getting zero pressure in game 1 was perplexing, but we fixed that.

To win a championship you CAN NOT do it without a defense that gets stops unless you are playing someone who has the same problems. In 2019 LSU had a defense that was...OK..not great. Same with Alabama in 2020. They both played teams that were struggling defensively those seasons. If you have a generational defense a la LSU 2003, Bama 1992 and UGA 2021 then you don't have to be great defensively. Problem is, those are generational, not seasonal. Spurrier won a title in 1996 because he had a generational offense but couldn't win any more because outside of 96 he never had that again and his defenses were inconsistent... to be kind.
Bottom line. Football has not changed as much as people would lead you to believe. A great defense, ability to run the ball and being on the plus side of turnovers still wins games. If UGA doesn't have a bazillion draft picks on that defense they dont win it all.

You need a really good one, maybe not THE best. That goes for any team, not just UGA.
LSU 2019 is probably the last team to win who didn't have a top 25 defense, and the only one in about 20-30 years.

Total offense is almost a completely useless stat.

That was Lanning's idea to just try and "contain' Bryce.

That's certainly news to the two top receivers that got injured.

What was expected to be Uga’s top 2 wr’s were also injured. That’s why it’s so pathetic to see the bama whining about those injuries.
