Also that 5star recruit Quay Evans chose Mississippi State over Bama last year.

Yeah because everyone knows one defensive line recruit means more than a top 3 recruiting class.

Use this argument with Auburn's recent recruiting class.

Then explain how they are 1-6

Merlins redshirts and develops his players like none other

See: The NFL Draft

Very applicable, since he is in his 4th year and his first class are now mostly rs JRs. Literally half of that 09 class will end up in the NFL.

did you go back and check La-Monroe's recruiting rankings vs Bammer in 2007?

2007 Alabama =/= 2012 Alabama. Alabama didn't have a single player drafted from any one of the seniors on that '07 team.

Please name those 5 stars that were getting solid playing time when Alabama played Utah. The 2008 Alabama team was actually Saban's weakest team at Alabama in terms of talent.

The second sentence is fine but you should have left off the first.

Alabama's box score for that game contains the names of no less than 14 players currently on NFL rosters. Javy Arenas, Mark Barron, Antoine Caldwell, Terrance Cody, Marcell Dareus, Brandon Deaderick, Dont'a Hightower, Mark Ingram, Kareem Jackson, Rashad Johnson, Mike Johnson, Julio Jones, Rolando McClain, and Courtney Upshaw.

In addition to those, when Glenn Coffee retired to enter the ministry he was all but the 49er's starting back, Darius Hanks is on IR for the Redskins, and John Parker Wilson is on the Jags practice squad.

The 2008 team was absolutely LOADED with talent. Some of it was young, but the talent comparison was a total mismatch.

so what? You still had twice as much talent as La Monroe- which is what you are trying to prove in this thread

Didn't he get arrested for having a gun in his car or something?

The fact that not a single Alabama player was taken in the 2008 NFL Draft kind of shoots down that thesis, doesn't it? For perspective, that's the first time Alabama was shut out of the draft since 1970.

Your brethren already disprove your theory of that team being less talented.

And I'm sure ULM had like four or five draft picks right? And none of the juniors or sophomores or freshman went in their drafts later right?

Oh...2008 Alabama was talented, no doubt. But most of those 4 and 5 star players were freshmen and sophomores. That team played over their heads for much of the season. They were good, but the loss of Andre Smith and Mike Johnson on the offensive line in the Sugar Bowl took away our bread and butter. We couldn't run the football and thus were dead in the water. JPW couldn't win football games for us.

I will give you that the o line losses hurt. Freshmen can come in and play at WR, RB, and sometimes corner immediately along with very isolated cases on the D-line. Offensive linemen ideally never start until they are redshirt sophomores at least.

You see............. This excuse is valid for Alabama, but no one else. If a team, like say LSU, loses Chris Faulk and 2 other O-line starters, then we should have more quality depth. Taking away our bread and butter is not a valid excuse for our team against Florida.

If your class isn't in the top 15....it's basically crap.

I guess that ULM team that beat that Bama arse a few years back had a top #10 class.
