Why would Grantham be saying anything about "staying healthy" within the context of players? Most of the injuries this past year were to the offense. He had a mostly healthy group of players that just happened to be one of the worst in UGA history, thanks to his brilliant scheming and coaching abilities.

Maybe staying healthy was his own New Years resolution. Guy needs to lay off the buffets.

Whoa...a rational auburn poster towards UGA.

Well that's a breath of fresh air. Post more.

Mostly. We obviously have money, so we can afford it, it's just whether it's worth spending on. The ideal location would be at the BM complex where the track is now, but obviously there's something there. The only other place getting talked about is off millege a few miles away, meaning we'd have to bus over there every time. Granted, it's a shorter drive than flowery branch, but still inconvenient.

Plus, as is obvious, you play in the rain. So it's not like practicing in it is the worst thing ever.

I agree Richt is great with QBs and has done an excellent job vs AU.

That said, I'm not ready to see Richt leave because I still think he underachieves. I think UGA could replace him with someone a whole lot better. I think UGA is one of the most under-rated HC gigs in the nation, and with someone from the very top tier of coaches would make UGA a juggernaut.

If thats the only realistic spot, then its not worth it until its time to build a new track.

which you also lose all the reasons, outside of just rainy day practice, an IPF is valuable to have

Overall? Perhaps. Against AU? Let's see:

01 L: Average UGA vs a good AU team. Push
02 W: Great team vs a good AU team. Push
03 W: Very good team vs an ok AU team. Push
04 L: Very good team vs a great AU team. Push
05 L: Very good team vs a good AU team. Under
06 W: Average team vs a very good AU team. Over
07 W: Very good UGA vs pretty good AU. Push
08 W: Pretty good UGA vs meh AU. Push
09 W: Meh UGA vs ok AU. Push
10 L: Bad UGA vs great AU. Push
11 W: Pretty good UGA vs bad AU. Push
12 W: Great UGA vs bad AU. Push
13 L: Alright UGA vs great AU. Push

By my count, there's been 1 game we overachieved, 1 where we underachieved, and pretty much every other UGA/AU game under Richt went about how it was supposed to. Not sure how you can call richt an underachiever vs Auburn.

i agree with your assessment... only time i've felt that auburn flat out got beat in a game they should've won was 2006.

fwiw, four of auburn's five wins against UGA have come in seasons that we've won the SEC West (01, 04, 10, 13)... the only other win we tied for the west with LSU (lost the head to head in BR thanks to john vaughn).

Injuries are a part of football, look at M. Mitchell, jumped celebrating and tore something, bad luck. We got a good S and C staff, T2 might be old school, but we got ol buddy from Penn State, he is one of the few Master S&C coaches in football, granted Van Halenger was also one, but during his days we did our thing. I think it is based on wins and loses, if your winning no one questions your S&C program, so when we have a crap season where we looked befuddled on D, it makes us look tired and weak. Last point, we got that speed coach who's main job is speed and injury prevention. I've heard he owned his own business doing the same for pro's in all sports including Olympic sprinters.

Somebody needs to tell Todd Grantham that Mike Bobo's back still hurts from the last three years

Arthur Lynch seconds him

Not only is the article factually incorrect judging from the piece you quoted, I was shocked this thread wasn't started by Beaver when I saw it.

I agree. UGA fans seem to agree too.

I'd like him to stay, Gus will even up his record against Auburn to 8-8, but I doubt Richt will stay long enough for that to happen.

Two things as pointed out on the radio today about Granthams twitter and him trolling UGA. Their thought, the dude must not be happy with UGA given he's getting 1 mil a year guaranteed for the next 5 and this is what is on his mind.

Also when we were these indoor facilities at the other schools built anyways? Was it after their national championship runs?

It's just never been a priority, UF doesn't have one either and they seem to have won a few titles without it somehow. It would get used maybe 3 times a season, and logistically there really isnt' anywhere close to BM that you can put it [all of what I just said is the opinion and thought process of the Ath.Department btw]

If you don't have a place for it you don't have a place for it.

But the one thing for UF is it's just warmer there. In the 60s for most of the week, sometimes 68 or 69. Athens is in the 40s for the most of the next 10 days, may hit 61 on Monday.

I think that's why UF can live without it.

Does anyone think the No Targeting rule has anything to do with the seeming increase in ACL injuries last season? Just wondering...

The fact you won 4 in a row was an abnormality. Prior to starting your 7-3 run, Auburn was 13-5-1 against Georgia.

The Bus is here to fix the problem.
