Probably not. I think Bama has basically been in the playoffs since last week.

We're very good playing as #1, but we get everyone's best game and the rare losses we have they say we're overrated.

It's ok though, as long as our trophy case keeps needing rennovations from time to time for the new ones.

I know Georgia wasn't relevant last season, but at least pay attention.

Of bama loses to auburn I seriously doubt they get in. They haven’t beaten anyone of significance

They haven’t even won their division. The committee learned their lesson with Ohio State last year who went on to get shut out. Ohio State got in because they beat Oklahoma who was also a playoff team. Alabama doesn’t have that resume at all

I really think it’s going to be the four conference champs excluding the pac 12. USC getting punked by Notre Dame probably kills them

then it will be the ACC with 2 teams in the CFP

How in the world did you come to that conclusion?

Bama will ALWAYS be in the playoffs, unless they have TWO losses! Get used to it! PS: And will ALWAYS start off as #1.
PSS: And will only drop 1 or 2 spots if/when they do lose that 1 game! Again get used to it (Saban effect).

Maybe.

It would take a pretty fortuitous series of events to get in that way though; however, Ohio State set the precedent that it's feasible to get into the playoffs without a conference championship over the team that wins it (and the team that beat you). In 2015, Penn State beat OSU and won the Big 10, but OSU went to the playoffs as PSU had 2 losses and OSU only had the 1.

I'm not sure how good OSU's 2015 schedule was, so there might be some argument in comparing Alabama's 2017 slate to that. That said, I honestly don't see it. Unless Oklahoma slips up, I imagine it will be Clemson/Miami in 1 slot, Oklahoma in 1 slot, SEC Champ in 1 slot (even if a 2-loss Auburn, thanks to the wins they'd have to get to get there), and B1G champ in the last slot. Now, if Ohio State wins the B1G, that MIGHT allow for UCF to slip in. Would give the committee a chance to "prove" they're not biased against non-P5 teams. If there's a slew of 2-loss teams, then Alabama has a shot. If the only 2-loss team in this scenario is Auburn, then AU goes and deservedly so.

Also, if Clemson beats Miami, then the ACC would have 2 1-loss teams. Then the debate becomes Miami vs Alabama is everyone else has 2-losses, if 2-losses is a some kind of wall that the committee hasn't let anyone else in on.

Alabama should get in at 11-1 over any two loss team other than Auburn if AU wins SEC. Ohio State is essentially a lock in the media's eyes if they win out which is absurd. Bama would have the best loss of any team (@AU) and let's face it, Bama is not losing by 31 to anyone and would never loss a game as a 30 point favorite.

Maybe.

Especially if Miami wins the ACC, AU wins the SEC, tOSU wins the B1G and Okl St wins the B12.

In that scenario, all conference champs except Miami would have 2 losses, Bama and Wisc would have 1 loss.

Oklahoma wasn't a playoff team that year. They were good (not saying they weren't) but they lost to Houston in game 1 and OSU in game 3. They weren't going to the playoffs that year. Oklahoma was in the playoffs the previous year (where they got obliterated by Clemson).

Yes they will. The only way they won't is if Wisconsin remains unbeaten.

It's pretty clear that barring a major upset somewhere the playoff is...

Winner of SEC Champ
Winner of ACC Champ
OU

The 4 spot could get interesting. If Bama beats AU and UGA and Wisconsin loses then Ohio State might sneak their way back in.

But if AU beats Bama and everything else plays out as expected then yes Bama will be in at #4.

If this happens and Clemson wins the ACC, then there is a good chance that AU would have to play Clemson, UGA and UA all twice this season.

Bama is in regardless of the Iron Bowl if Auburn beats UGA. They would have the best loss of any one loss team (at Auburn). Two loss Auburn or 1 loss Bama. The committee will go with a 1 loss OSU, Bama, etc. over a two loss team.

Miami
Oklahoma
Wisconsin
Bama
They pass the eye test, their recruiting is amazing. FSU was great preseason. Media darlings. Congrats.

It would be tough but I don't think the committee would let this happen. This is probably the only scenario where I would actually lose my shite if Auburn got left out.

When ohio state made the playoffs last year without winning the division it was because they beat Oklahoma who also made the playoffs.

Its not apples to apples if you want to compare Alabama to making the playoffs without even winning the division. They wouldn't have a win/resume close to that.

LSU and Miss State would be the wins? That's pretty ugly
