A team that doesn’t win their division shouldn’t be in any championship discussion in the current format.

Everyone wants to see us lose. We are the greatest villain in sports right now. If we get in as the first 2 loss playoff team casual fans will watch to pull against us. Plus, the committee wants a 12 team playoff. Bama getting in helps push the conference commissioners closer to that number so they can be guaranteed their champ gets in every year.

We did win our division. We are co champs with LSU after the TAMU win last night.

Now do the last time they put in a team with two losses.
And because what matters are choices made in the past. OSU got in as a non conference winner and showed they did not belong. The next year Alabama got in as a non conference winner and won it all. Who is the better gamble based on history, Alabama.
OSU got embarrassed at home yesterday. It will definitely be a major talking point before Tuesday. Come Tuesday whoever the 5th ranked team will be has a chance with only needing 1 team in front of them to drop a game. The 6th ranked team will need 2.
Assuming UA and OSU are in those 2 spots that order will stay the same next week no matter happens. It might be in different spots but it will not change the order of who is in front.

You think the committee based their '22 decisions on what happened in '21? OSU has one loss to the #2 team in the country. They're in before two loss Bama.

K.
So never? You're saying several times they've put one loss teams in over two loss teams?
If they put Bama in, they're basically saying that they think Bama can win it all any given year and what they do during the season means nothing.
They might do it. Would certainly be bold to admit that they're completely unnecessary.

Ohio State 100% deserves to be in the playoff more than Bama.

Also want to highlight how ridiculous this is.
ESPN will be all over it, I'm sure. Certainly brings a lot more eyeballs than saying three teams are a lock, and it's USC if they win or Ohio State if they don't.

Whoever the committee puts in they believe has a shot to win it all. Is that not the decisions they have to make every year? I do not recall without looking up when there has been a year that was clear who should be in. I mean if UGA, UM, TCU, and TCU all win next week I think it is easy for the committee. But if not they have to decide who the best 4 are and which 4 has a chance.
If so UA has not played anyone in the playoffs but OSU just got blown out a home by a team in it. Not really a hard decision to be honest.

Not trying to say Alabama deserves to be in the playoff but Alabama went 1-1 vs their rivals this season.

The committee has always left out teams with 3 TD losses on their record. It’ll happen again this year. My 2021 OSU vs Mich point was simply about how it will negatively affect tv ratings. OSU has stopped playing defense. Michigan, a running team, has hung 40+ on them 2 years in a row and beat them by 15 and 22 respectively. No one outside of their fan bases wants to see that again.

Why because of 2 losses or because you do not like UA? Because OSU just demonstrated at home they can not beat a team that appears to be in the playoffs in UM. Why would the committee think they could win in the playoffs? Not like yesterday was a close game.
Remember the committee has always said it is about putting the best 4 in the playoffs who they think can win it, not anything to do with who is deserving.

Correct.
Alabama is as close to being 7-5 as they are to being 12-0 and lost to both of the best teams they played. Ohio State lost once, to a rival and playoff team, that was a one score game with seven minutes left.
Spin it any way you want, but Bama shouldn't even be in the discussion.

Again neither should OSU.
So spin it however you want but here is the facts.

Except that's not a criteria for the committee.
The committee's stated goal is choosing the four best teams for the bowl championship. How many teams in the top 10 would be favored in a match up against Bama on a neutral field at present? IMO, only Georgia. That should settle the question as to weather or not they should be considered.

Bryce hurt his shoulder against Arky. He looked completely healed last night. Our last impression is very impressive. Y’all’s, not so much.
